I'd argue you're wrong unless talking about people who do drugs/lift purely for aesthetic purposes.
Living a fit lifestyle has tons of health and emotional benefits. It's also been shown that one's general level of health while 30ish determines how sick or well you'll be in old age.
Feeling and looking better are just side effects of regular exercise and reasonable diet.
Exactly. OBVIOUSLY, Exercise/working out is a physical thing BUT to me, its sooo much more than just a "physical" thing. Gives you self-esteem/self-worth,confidence,feel good about how you look, you feel like you can accomplish other things in other areas of your daily life, etc.....
