maybe i'm a bit naive, but don't some people get into the medical field because they want to help people? :-\

E

You're a good man, Earl, but slightly naive.  Go ask your doctor what he/she thinks about this bill.

Haha, you're freaking high. i posted this yesterday. I have a client that has a huge insurance business and I asked him yesterday how this clusterfuck is going to effect his business, his response was..."We're not sure yet, but we figure it's going to cost us an EXTRA $1.5-2mil per year, it's going to hurt us".

Tbombz, you're in the wrong country.

Tell me about it.  If these people love socialism so much why don't they move to any of the oh so wonderful socialist countries in the world?  ???

The United States was founded on the protection of individual liberty, private property, and economic freedom.  If you don't like it - leave!  But NOOOO, the lefties have to go and ruin the last bastion of freedom left in the world.

If you’re living in the U.S., you already ARE in a socialist country.

But, I think you’ll be surprised at the “shock waves” of benefits this bill will produce.
For instance, critics claim that many companies will be forced to lay off employees due to the increasing costs of insuring them.

True, but…

Think how many NEW jobs will be created in the schoolbook publishing industry alone.
They’re gonna need an awful lot of people to write sections about U.S. Capitalism in the HISTORY BOOKS.

the main problem with this is it creates further governmental bureaucracy which is counterproductive

If adding 30 million people saves money, we should insure Mexico also and save big time!

Good post!

Enjoy communism.  We've had it in Canada for some time now.  I just bought Mark Steyn's book "America Alone" which is soon to be banned in Canada.  So long freedom of speech.  :'(  Not that we ever had it in Canada but at least American authors have had it whose work has founds its way on the internet.  So long to freedom of speech in the USA too.

so he was profiting off of charging huge premiums, cutting costs at the expense of human life, and denying coverage to those who need it and you find this right?  Insurance companies are scumbags, health care should not be a business, that is disgusting!

I assume he already yanks millions upon millions from overcharging people as well since there is no regulations which is despicable.  Also making money in finding a way to deny coverage to a person who needs a life saving operation but try's to find a way to drop the person to save some $$$.  WOW great guy! I call him a murder, death panel employee.  We need over seer's of this industry, if not they will take you and your life away at the expense of there next vacation to the exotic islands, fuckin greedy assholes.

Take out 3/4 of the government and they will still raise taxes...Its a scam people...They want us all to fight amounts ourselves over silly BS...Bottom line is the Dems and the Repubs are going to keep growing government...And when government grows, so does the tax rate...In the end, they want a 75% tax rate...
Until a serious uprising...Shit will always be the same...DO NOT HAVE KIDS IN THIS DIMENSION...IT HAS TOTALLY BEEN TAKING OVER...Die without kids and you will move on to another dimension...If not, you will keep coming back to this sort of bullshit...

That's the thing che - people DO leave Canada.  It has been happening for decades and people used to leave to go to the USA.  Not anymore though.  If things slide any further to the left than they are right now I will be leaving to the USA.  Sadly, I fear the USA will not be far behind.  :'(

What do you suppose he is doing with that money?  It is either in the banking system or being used to increase the operational efficiencies of his business, i.e., it is being used to serve the health care needs of individuals even better in the future.  Now with a parasite class taking this money, productive people will get even worse coverage and get sick and/or die as a result.  Is that fair?  As for how health care should not be a business, who do you think produces all of the medical technology and medicine that you benefit from?  Was it created in a socialist commune or by a corporation?  Now that the USA has a socialized medical system, Canada can no longer free ride off the US technological innovations as we have been.  Oh yes, things are wonderful here:

http://www.vancouversun.com/health/Thousands+surgeries+Metro+Vancouver+leaked+paper+reveals/1878506/story.html

In Canada we aren't denied coverage for expensive medicine and other health care measures - these things simply don't exist to begin with!!!

It's so horrible to have to pay a million dollars for a new cancer fighting drug - it's so much better to simply not have the option whatsoever.  ::)

The fact of the matter is that we are already spending much more than we would need to spend to give every citizen complete and free coverage.  :)

sidenotes:

io: gov beaucuracy? no, gov resourcing pooling to give all citizens the ability to have access to a vital service that they otherwise couldnt afford on their own. btw, if a person doesnt believe in government(opposes government programs) then why the hell are they interested in politics? lol!

Elitist?  Excuse me but aren't you the one cheering on free health care for the "poor" people in the USA who are among the top 20% of richest people in the world already?

Did you realize that 2.6 billion people in the world live on under $2 a day?  And you want to give free health care to people who already have a far higher standard of living than them?  Free health care for the world's richest 20%!  Sounds pretty elitist to me.
