no kidding. This is one of the main reason I'm making the swap.
I remember when my damn master cylinder went out on me in a 93 civic I had. Car was 6 years old....I'm sitting at the light not even able to get the damn car in gear....I then look down at my foot and it's covered in fluid. That wear and tear is murder on a manual.
If your financial situation allows, I recommend the upgrade to auto for this reason alone. Saves in long run imo.
I agree
Gracie, my dad taught me how to drive a manual, but Ive had autos, and as I said, I live near Washington, DC. It's roughly 45 minutes from home, but for people who work there, in the mornings it is roughly 2 hrs of gridlock
of 1-30 mph stop and go, sometime you just sit there. In the afternoons, it's like 1-3, sometime 4 hrs. Some people who get off at 5 don't get home until 9. Now imagine that in a 6 speed manual. The constant engaging of
clutch, gas, and tranny. It gets old real quick...I knew a guy who lived near my family who had the old Jag V12 coupe, he worked in DC, and went thru 3 clutch cables in very short time.
I agree it's fun to run thru the gears and to learn heel-toe, and engine braking, but a day to day driver who must commute to a major American metropolitan city, a auto is the best "weapon" of choice. The manual is for weekends.
Steeve, that rollback is very common. I actually saw someone who did that at every light, and he did it one rime and went too far back and backed into the car behind him.
