Buying a 6 vs a 4 is not the same type of decision in Europe with their gas prices.

Agreed but doesn't change fact that a straight 6 is worth the extra $ (to me at least) - most (not all) 4cyl cars are pretty miserable beasts.

I'm not "arguing" anything except for the fact that Nasser did not and is not the type to rebadge a vehicle.  So there are two possibilities - either you are wrong in thinking its not an original AMG and only contains the AMG kit or whatever (my original response last year), or Nasser purchased it that way (another possibility).  I still think it could be either of the two possibilities, and it doesn't really matter as Nasser doesn't really care himself - he just likes having a few decent rides.

Especially if he bought i brand new, but either way that is CL500 runs over 100K and the AMG is roughly 150K or so, so he would have gotten screwed out of 50K or so.

Yep and most importantly. NO AMG engine...Supercharged 5.5 liter engine.

318i M is a pretty mice motor, i like the 1 series and a couple of guys i know have them but i'd take a 3 series anytime.

Seems nippy enough yet quite economical. I dunno how fuel prices are in Ireland (if anything like the UK ever-increasing) but if you're not gonna be driving it too much it's not really an issue.

Yeah business is going very well thankfully.I can write the price of the car off against my tax as its down as a company car so thats good.
Petrol here is very expensive,the equivalent of $2 per litre but I estimate il only do about 3000miles a year in it

how can one just buy a CL55AMG, and not even know, nor care if its the real deal? Nasser is a clever man, I doubt he'd be careless with his cash, and fork out double the cash for a (at the time) flagship model. There are several visual clues, as well as paperwork, and a big heads-up is whats under the bonnet.

even if I knew nothing bout cars or a specific one, and just saw something nice Id like to park in garage, Id do my homework.

what probably happenned (not that I'll lose sleep over it ), is, he knew he was buying a CL-whatever model, knowing it was badged incorrectly, and left it badged CL55AMG, for whatever reason. Maybe he doesnt care, maybe he likes it like that.

Fact is, Nasser owns a CL55AMG badged vehicle thats not a CL55AMG. this is not a car board, there arent other examples around, why not use one bbing related thats been posted on board...
