At your age should be better. If that is for two weeks, really not good.

I don't make a lot of money at all but I love when I have over a grand in the bank and I don't need to touch it or use it at all.

I feel like a douchebag to brag about money, because i've been poor as hell before and lived in ghettos and know that I should be humble.

 But right now i'm getting about 4 G's a month  8)

I got another stack of bils coming at me next week. Gonna fly out to Shanghai, China and do some serious debauchary.

I'm living out in Asia. Working in the education field.

Also, I spend about 5 hours out of my day fucking around on the net at work. I'm at work right now!

I'm never going back to the USA  8)

Gene, Depends on what the DOllar is worth where you live.

I'm in the USA and I had my biggest week ever. I took home $3,178 last week. Worked under 6hrs for that  too. Made over 1k on Friday alone.
I was on the brink of poverty in late 08' but worked SMART, not hard and found something I was very good at.

I bet you're thrilled Obama's in the White House huh?  I bet those welfare checks will just bigger and bigger now.  If you'd try working for a living, one day you might make it out of that ghetto you call a home.

Obama's going to tax about 60% of it so it's a wash..LOL

I wish he'd tax it at 95%.  Give with one hand, take away with the other.  The sad part is, recipients like the OP would be none the wiser and still be thrilled to be getting the 5%  haha

A good paycheck depends on where you live. In Manhattan, if you aren't taking home 9k clear a month, you'd be fucked. If you live with the parents and barely have any bills $1120 is fine since it's all yours. When I first started working in the early 90's, I lived at home for 4 years and saved over 25K a year, working a mid 40K a year boring job. I invested the cash for retirement. Almost 20 years later, what money I have has grown out of that initial investment. These days I make about 4K clear a month but it's pretty much gone to bills before I see it. Mortgage or rent, life insurance, house insurance, car insurance, property tax, RESP's for the kids, RRSP's for you, gas, food, clothes, internet, home phone/cell phones, repairs. The list goes on and on. I have no debts, or high interest monthly payments but can understand how so many people are financially stressed. It seems the money is all spoken for.

These days I clear about 1K a week, and don't have near the cash I used to when I was making a measely $17.50 a hour with generous overtime, and living with mom and dad. It all goes to payments (I don't live large at all, driving a 9 year old jeep, and rarely eating out, ect). These days for 2 weeks, I'd say if you have a decent job you're clearing minimum 2k a paycheck. Anything below $1400, or $100 bucks clear each day of the year($700 a week) and you're either depending on investments, a second income (wife/husband, gf/bf) or living real, real cheap.

Good luck. Hopefully you can work smart and enjoy life as opposed to being stuck in the rat race like myself.
