I had to get evaluated for sleep apnea.  I went to an orientation.  I must have been the only person in the room that was less than three bills.   Embarrassed Cry

Yeah.

One lady I know that was evaluated was waking up 60 times an hour.  Did they give you a wake up number Beach?

Awesome, this might save my marriage ST Grin

It's well worth the money just to try it.  My dentist was selling something similar but I didn't ask how much he was charging.  I see other doctors advertising for something similar also....you can get 2 for one through the website (or you could when we ordered them).  They hold the person's lower jaw out a bit.

LOL     Grin

My parents were happily married for 30+ years "till death do us part."  My father died of cancer.

Sorry about your dad loco.  Glad to hear he had a long happy marriage!

Glad to hear about your friend too Beach!

No wake up number. They just hooked me up to all sorts of wires and then put a mask on my face about halfway through the night.

My friend has such a beautiful marriage.  I tell him and his wife I like to just hang around listen to them talk.   Smiley   Couples in good, long-term marriages are beautiful.

Haha, you noticed that too? Funny how he has yet to post in this thread. Yet, if they were to break up after 51yrs, Bay would be the first to make a thread on it!

its called guilt for saying that he's gay AFTER having kiddies....opr being married to a woman....i forget which 1

so then...its goes out the realm of being a genetic predisposition to it being a choice....

and if its a choice then it easily goes out the realm of normal sexual behaviour to the world of deviancy...since now its a choice...since clearly you can get it up for women!

just my 2 cents

Shocked

its true...a LOT of gay guys have former wives and also have kids....so throws the whole...i'm genetically predisposed bullshit out the window...

there might be a VERY small % of guys that might be gay from birth...ie truly cant get it up for a woman...but for the most part its the...."auntie whatnot, touched me in the whereelse when i ws 13 and now i hate women" syndrome

OR "uncle woohoo touched me in the dingleberries when i ws 13 and now i'm predisposed to being more aroused by men" syndrome

Sounds sad.

What does?  Their 40 year marriage or the fact they're a cute couple?   Smiley

why is that?
After the honey moon period is finished you go through stage where everything that you liked about your partner before, the way she smiles, the little giggle, the way she sips coffee, the noise she makes when she drinks, the way she opens the toothpaste, the way she hangs up the towel................ everything starts to work on your nerves.
I have noticed that the higher the high of the honey moon the lower the low just afterwards.
It takes about 2 years for the highs and lows to settle

why is that?

I feel like it was terrible because we were both wondering if we had done the right thing.  Then things you say may be incredibly hurtful and having lived alone such a short time prior to that seems very inviting again..... having the additional stress really wears on you...when your marriage is bad it's almost always at the front of your mind.  Very depressing!  But on a better note, when it's good it's great!

have any of you ever had a problem with being intimate with your spouse in all the years you've been together? I mean, has there ever been a longer period of time  in which you couldn't even think of having intercourse just because you didn't feel attracted to them anymore even though your sex drive was high?

No.  But maybe your question has to do w/couples who have changed a lot over the years either physically or emotionally?

Also, I think people can become complacent at times.  For instance, the comparison of having a plate of freshly baked cookies sitting out every day in comparison to having them available only once a month,  or year or whatever.

I read an interview of Jack LaLanne, who is now 95.  He and his wife Elaine have been married for 54 years.  He says "she is the power beneath my muscles.  Has been for 54 years."
