He was one of the if not the most feared pound for pound boxer...eventhough his 'defense' wasnt all there , the dude had hands of stone....crazy guy too... i always wanted to see him vs. Manny or even vs. MAyweather... oh well...

Former boxing champion Edwin Valero, who gained fame for knocking out all his 27 opponents and having a tattoo of Hugo Chavez on his chest, was found dead in his jail cell Monday and police said he hanged himself after being arrested in his wife's murder.

The former lightweight champion used his own clothes to hang himself from a bar in his cell early Monday, Venezuelan Federal Police Chief Wilmer Flores told reporters.

He said Valero was found by another inmate, who alerted authorities in the police lockup in north-central Carabobo state. Valero still showed signs of life when they took him down, but they were unable to save him and he died about 1:30 a.m., Flores said.

Reminds me of the recent story about an old senile retired boxer at and old folks home, cant remember the country.
Anyway one of the female staff were walking him to his bed and the elevator arrived ont he other side of the "room" and that "Pling" you hear when it arrives, anyway, the old man turn around and KO'S the FUCK out of the worker, apparently he thought he was back in the ring. Shes in the hopstital with serious head injuries and wont be able to work again..
