Adonis Wavelength Diet - What do you believe?
« on: April 26, 2010, 03:13:27 PM »
I believe it comes down to calorie in versus calorie out (Adonis/Wavelength Diet), I also believe different foods affect your metabolic rate differently (speeding it up or slowing it down).  All you have to do to over come this is to readjust your caloric intake weekly or so based on the amount of weight you lose.

Anyone disagree with that?

I think we're actually all on the same page here and don't realize it...

I don't think mindspin is refuting the science,

He's simply saying the American Public lack the willpower to follow calorie restriction..

And that Dr Connelly uses an approach that is more manageable for most people...

The reason you most likely will not succeed is because you won't be eating a large quantity of food due to the caloric density of fast food.

You will fail mentally. BUT......

If you have the willpower it will work

If I can eat boiled and dried chicken breasts with sweet potatoe and steamed veggies with oatmeal for 6+ meals a day I think I can handle taking in 5 double cheese burgers split into 5 meals and one chicken burrito at night

i dont buy into all his principles...

he thinks that any calories are as good as others as long as your getting required protein it doesnt matter where the other calories are coming from...
-I think a person who gets their calories from a well balanced diet is going to look better than a person who gets their calories from fat other than required protein...
-he also thinks that diet such as that I described is as nutritionally balanced as one from a well balanced diet...

It would make sense to calculate in the TEF and only then start the comparison. Who wants to eat only protein all day anyway.

You can easily get around the whole calories issue, just focus on rate of weight change instead of calories.

I'm closer to the Adonis/Wavelength camp.

The way I figure it, you fix the protein numbers, then adjust the calories up or down depending on what you want to do.

Anything new in the fields of weight-loss or LBM gain is almost all drug related, nothing more, nothing less.

So then what macronutrient theory in application will produce the fastest rate of change?

Enough protein and adequate EFAs, that's all. Everything else is pretty much irrelevant.
Fastest results will be provided by following these rules and reduction of calories.

Wait, so eating tons of protein and eating certain carbs at certain times and all the other stuff is more doable than looking up calories and eating Krispy Creme? I don't understand :-\
