Perception is everything. Reaganites have done a great job spinning him into the conservative hero he never was based on one tax cut, without mentioning the later raises and deficit. Obama however, is perceived as so liberal he's not even on the radar of democracy and has now become a communist. This despite having a significant tax rebate and following the internationally believed need for stimulus money to stop deflation and a further global meltdown.
I honestly think Obama is more conservative than people give him credit for. He's very in touch with the corporate side of politics and has shown that again and again with his watered down policies. If you were to judge him on his presidency so far you'd probably concluded he's basically a republican with some perceived left leaning traits/beliefs about universal health care and a republican born idea of cap and trade system.
There was a deficit because Reagan was trying to destroy the soviets in an arms race WHICH HE WON!!!
Obama is the farthest left wing liberal in the history of this country.There isnt a thing he stands for that can be even remotely considered conservative.Not a social issue,not an economic issue.
So far he has socialised the auto indistry the banking industry,health care,student loan program,dropped charges against the black panthers etc etc ,rewarded unions,spent a trillion dollars on a bailout of federal union jobs.Yes,Id definately get him confused with a conservative.
