Don't know where you're getting this.  A lot the big names from back in the day talked openly about the sexuality and g4p type activity.  Draper is a good guy now, but he's been very open about his problems with severe addiction in the past.  Essentially all of the guys were using drugs by the 70s and where there are drugs, there is crime.  Maybe in the 50s it was more wholesome, probably, but that was but a brief blip in history, as the 60s came around everything changed.

Nonetheless, BB on stage prior to the 70s was more like Haman's routine than it is today-people came on stage with weights, trumpets, women...etc, did tricks whatever.  It was a circus show.  Andy is in shape and putting on his best show and is actually mirroring the BB of the 60s and 70s in and around Venice and SAMO.   A guy with a wife and 3 kids, who comes in in shape and puts on a wild and wacky show with lots of entertainment is like the last person in BBing putting shame to it.

So then let's hear it!!!!!!  Who are these big names that were openly talking about gay for pay?  What does homosexuality have to do with Draper or drugs?  Doing tricks on stage, blowing up water balloons, blowing trumpets are not even in the same bizarre childish category of what Haman does in that video.  You are clueless.  I'd love for you to show me one instance of a major BBer in the 50's and 60's coming on stage and acting like Andy Haman.  Sergio?  Draper? Zane? Pearl? Arnold?  You can''t!  You're talking out of your ass.

WRONG!!!!!!!!  Physical culture i.e. strength training, bodybuilding, health and fitness, muscle beach, etc. were all very mainstream back in the day.  Trying to say that physical culture in the time of Draper, Grimek, and Bob Hoffman was a joke a schmoefest just reaffirms your own personal justifications as a homosexual bodybuilding fan/participant.  Homosexuality in bodybuilding was far from mainstream back in the day.  I guess all those young kids buying the Charles Atlas pamphlets were all out to be gay?  LMAO!  Homosexuality, drugs, etc. were all present back then.........but it was hardly the majority like it is nowadays.

You would NEVER have seen an idiot like Andy Haman go anywhere in bodybuilding back then acting so stupid and childish.  He would have got his pansy ass kicked off the stage.  Constrast an amazing poser like of Arnold's era with the shit Andy pulled in that video and if you still don't think bodybuilding is completely alien to what it used to be.............well maybe you should come up for air big guy!

Tim Fogarty has exploded the myth of an idealized past for BB and physique culture several times here in the past.  I will allow his posts speak for themselves.  Whether or not you are inclined to find them is up to you. ::)

did arthur jones ever get any dirt on 'uncle joe'?  i always wondered, since jones seemed so bent on toppling the wieder empire, if he ever heard anything unseemly he would have let it all out.

unless jones was no better behind closed doors

His behavior is likely due to a combination of steroids and serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. Serotonin re-uptake inhibitors has been proved to cause reckless behavior, or over-all unusual behavior.

That is why the first side effects listed for Prozac and other serotonin re-uptake inhibitors is suicide.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has called the issue a growing concern and has begun testing for many drugs at water treatment plants around the nation because they eventually end up in drinking water from waste water.

So everyone drinking city water is basically going crazy

Well, you guys are wrong about Andy Haman yet again...

You wanna know why he does these types of routines?

His kids. His kids choreograph his guest posing routines.

He lets his kids contribute to what kind of routine daddy does on stage because he loves his kids and wants to include his kids in his passion for the sport.

So now you know the real answer.

If you noticed, there is no sexual undertones in his posing but comical an meant to be funny.

Why? Because his kids did the choreography....

That 'figure chick' looks like it could be his wife.  Andy is married with 4 kids.

This is an '80 routine - at least Andy mixes it up.  Some people love his crazy look and style.

Yes, the routine was a little cheesy, but the question, was it entertaining to the crowd or not?

X2

at least his routine better than some pros boring posing.

So what it's still fucking stupid and he looks like a fool.  But it's no surprise as the guy acts like a big kid in real life as well.  The "sport".   ::)

maybe it's just me, but i would be embarassed if i was his children! 1) to see my dad acting "that silly and crazy up on a stage and 2) perhaps my religious upbringing and morals but also if was his children i would be embarassed and kind of weirded out to see my dad 99 percent naked on stage in a thong!

of course depending on the age of the children, maybe that doesn't even cross their mind, although i think it would be like a young kid seeing their parent walking around the house in their underwear which i don't think is appropriate unless the child is like 2 to 4 years old and doesn't know anything yet.

It’s just you.  Besides, you are hardly in a position to be looking down on Andy—or anyone else—given your own history of decision making.  Aren’t you the same Tom who was fired from a PA job?  Now stuck with living with your younger brother?  Working part time at a Rec center in the midwest?  Dreaming of moving back to California?  If you are looking for a cause to be embarassed, look in the mirror.  :-[

on a side note you guys pretty much save, bookmark and mentally retain each others' posts.  that's interesting...given i can't even remember what my last post was.  i always viewed the getbig battles and outings as strictly gimmick...guess i'm wrong.  :-\

It is not weird—it is just.  When someone makes a fool of himself in one thread and then cops an attitude, or exposes himself as a hypocrite, in another he deserved to be called on it.  Message board features make this easy and owning can be fun. Here’s a denotation and some visual examples.  :D

Owned, p0wned, pwned, 0wn3d, pwn3d, own3d. v. tr. To be made a fool of; To make a fool of; To confound or prove wrong; embarrasing someone: Being embarrassed.

For the record: a fired, out of shape, 45 year old gymrat who lives with his younger brother in the Midwest because he can’t afford a place of his own (See his “i'm going to be 45 and i still don't have a real career?!” http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=281208.0 thread) mocking Andy Haman is ripe for owning.

Of course you don’t. The inability to connect… the… dots… appears to be a recurring theme in your life.  Given that you are
working only part time as a manager at a recreational center in the midwest hating it, the pay sucks and there is no chance for me to move up and i hate everyone i work with!
pity—not anger--is the emotion you elicit.  Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to party for a long weekend in San Diego with my suitcase full of money.  I'll send you a postcard. :-*

Funny, when I think of stints in San Diego, I think of deep sea fishing and boating (Sunseeker) jaunts to Baja.  Meanwhile, you are fantasizing about “meth and butt secks.”  What different lives we lead… thank god.   8)

Needless to say I had my stint in the drug world and I saw a lot of shit. Cmon Bay you seem to think everything is based of someones fantasies. Sooo,....
Usually when someone mentions a suitcase of (I assumed illicit) money I think of drugs. Then couple that with a gay guy talking about partying (read drugs)... well you get the picture.  ;D

After I got out, Mr Male Nurse. haha.
Before I went in, I was the picture of upstanding citizen. The Marines took away my fear of pretty much everything. But Im interested in hearing your "judgement" of what I must have been like when I was using. Go ahead. Im waiting. I figured you got tired of being savagely owned left and right, but clearly youre back for some more.  ;D
