Who cares? If his products work (and they do; I especally did the Lemon Ice SizeOn), Gaspari gets much respect. I don't care if he ever features a black bodybuilder.

How do you define "work"? Do you feel the size on "worked" better than a protein/oats shake or real food? (genuine question)

Personally, I think the SIZEON was the greatest product I ever took in my life and yes, I would recommend using it in addition to food.  With a lot of supplements, I would say just ignore them and eat whole foods.  I'm sampling Spirodex as we speak and it's working very well.  Supplements are obviously not magic but they can be efficacious and I would put Gaspari's products up there as being the best in the industry.

Also, at $110 million a year in sales, Gaspari is able to buy his bulk ingredients at a lower cost thus passing the savings onto the consumer.  I know I come across as a shill for supplement companies at times, but I do like Gaspari's products.  I have decided that after my powerlifting contest this Saturday I am going to get back into bodybuilding.  I would like to have some size to go with my strength.

Isn't it about time you got your SIZEON?  ;D

The new versions are pretty damn good themselves. I am trying MG's Powdered Muscle now from TP, and it is neck and neck with the max performance SO.

You're a sucker if you waste your money on supplements.

If you want a real muscle building food, eat horse meat cock!

I tried Super Pump Max today and overall thought it was pretty good although nothing mind blowing as the original SIZEON was, which remains to this day the best product I have ever consumed [I have yet to try the new versions].

My workout:

Deadlifts:

45X12, 135X12, 225X12, 315X3 [no belt, no chalk up to this point and grip slipped a little with 315 due to slightly sweaty palms], 365X1, 405X1, 425X1 [hard], 430X1 [very hard, took me around five seconds to complete the lift], then down to 315 for a couple of singles.  I then went to 385 to try deadlifting in the sumo method but failed.

Hyperextensions:

I did a drop-set with 25 pounds for 12 followed by body weight for 12.  Then I did the same using 35.  I should have done the 35 first but I had not trained back since my last contest which was late August so I wasn't sure how strong I would be.

I hate to say it, but I'm really not prepared for my contest on Saturday.  I think I will open with 425 for deadlift and 295 for bench.  If I get those lifts I will maybe go 435 and 300 and depending on how those go I will decide what to do for my last attempts.

Super Pump Max Review:

I felt the Super Pump Max was a little better than the original formula in terms of gastrointestinal side effects [the original formula was UNBEARABLE for me and I had to cease using it].  Super Pump Max basically gave me a little pick-me-up and a bit more clarity during my workout.  I tried the Fruit Punch flavour.  I will have to try it again before giving it a final grade but overall it was pretty good but nothing mind-blowing.  But then again, this was my second workout in a month so it's hard to really judge.  For all I know I could have had a worse workout without it.

I am going back to bodybuilding now though as my body weight is currently 165 and I honestly think I looked much better at 180-190.  I also don't think it is that unhealthy to a little muscular.  I think TA is right about the positive health effects of being thin, but it's not the end of the world to have some muscle mass.  After my contest this Saturday I'm going to try to get back into bodybuilding and put on some size.  I think I personally look better in the 180s and I am hardly getting tired after going up a flight of stairs at that weight.  It's about time I got my SIZE ON!  LOL.

Matt,

Lol!  No.  :)

Gaspari operates a pretty big company and it only makes sense that he would have the ability to put more time and money into the formulation of his products.  Also, keep in mind that Gaspari has sponsored independent university testing of his supplements.  Peer reviewed science is free for any other scientist to replicate to confirm or deny the findings.  I can't speak on the new SIZEON formula because I haven't tried it but I thought the original formula was awesome and was without question the best supplement I ever tried and I do look forward to trying the new formula.

I've heard very good things regarding their products in recent times

Did Rich pump his own cash into the venture, or did he have backing?
R&D, testing, marketing on a global scale, plus a very large pool of sponsored spokespersons does not come cheap

or did he maybe start off with just his name behind it, did fairly well sales-wise, and re-invested profits into quality-controls & production?

Seems like a real success story, he is on par with established "giants" such as MTech on notoriety, has the best positive feedback, overtook Labrada Nutrition (who is doing very well too) even though he started-up few years after.

Great post, good overall description of Rich and his company.  I read on here that Rich had some wealthy investors but have no confirmation on that.  As for how Rich initially became successful, I know he made a great deal of money back in the heyday of pro-hormones/pro-steroids:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/johnh2.htm

Quote
Q: What supplements do you sell that you feel would be beneficial to a competitive bodybuilder?

A: Compared to when I competed and now, the products are light years ahead. Some of the proteins are so much better. What I sell mainly right now are the pro-hormones and pro-steroids. Some of the stuff I have right now works better than any steroid on the market. One of the products I sell is called M-One-T which is a methylated form of the 1-Test. It's unbelievable.

Since pro-hormones actually work basically as well as steroids, they were understandably good sellers.  That allowed Rich to obtain a lot of initial capital which he later reinvested back into the company.  I think Rich was smart not to invest in too many loss leader products and from there intelligently build himself up to where he is now.

I don't want to come across as being a shill for Gaspari's products but he has done pretty well and I think it's safe to say that he has come out with products that are consistently better than the competition.  I admit, I am impressed with Rich and that manifests into a positive outlook about his company, but again, I don't want to come across as a shill for his company, but it is quite good.  :)

Thats right, forgot about that, he did the pro-hormones before the ban!

Lots of guys cashed in there, selling "legal aas" in a bottle over the counter! ;D

In the interview link you posted, gotta love the plug bout how its "..even more effective than steroids.." lol. A salesman through & through.

Always liked and respected Gaspari as a bber, good to see him still leading the pack in another way.

If I'm not mistaken, the chemical mechanism for pro-hormones was to simply go into the body with one carbon atom shy of a steroid profile and have that carbon atom reattached once inside the body, essentially then being exactly the same as steroids.  Also, a friend of mine said his best gains aside from IGF-1 were from M1Ts.

I actually like the different Halodral versions outside of the DS original.

I don't use gear though, so I like alternatives. I did use gear and older prohormones, but the new DS are just too risky for my liking.

Makes sense!  It would have been something if these products had steroid-like gains without steroid-like side effects.  That would be too good to be true.

I think at this point Rich is basically the Mr. Olympia of supplement company owners.  He is obviously financially secure but he is doing what I think is basically part of the human element to do which is to strive for more.  And I have no problem with this.  If Rich can financially benefit by producing products better than his competitors while sponsoring dozens of NPC shows and giving away all sorts of free samples at expos, how is he hurting anyone?  It is really the beauty of living in an economically free society.

Matt, I tend to agree that Gaspari is definitely of the better if not THE best companies out there. He is a machine.

I personally like and use both Superpump and SIzeon but you cannot really compare the 2. One is fueled by caffeine and the other isn't.

If I have a lunchtime workout then I go with SP but if it's later in the day then Sizeon is definitely the way to go!

As an aside, the Intrapro is by far the best Protein I have ever had, mixes well, tastes great and doesn't bloat me at all!
