I've only been to Salzburg. That is one of the most beautiful regions I've ever visited. Mountains were just incredible.....and no, I didn't frollick to the Sound of Music soundtrack.....

We really don't. I have never met a single Austrian in my life who has seen the movie and very few who even know it exists. I didn't know anything about it until an American told me.

Neither WL nor DK speak Alemannic; WL uses a variety of the Bavarian family and DK uses more or less Standard German.
