My left delt keeps twitching and has been for about 3 days. Not painful but annoying. Yesterday it was almost constant and today is more sporadic. I've googled stuff that comes up w/everything from cervical herniated discs to ALS I trained shoulders on Monday (but not that intensely). Any suggestions? Thanks!

Stell, Were you recently sick - i.e. diarrhea? Have you been under stress lately?
Also, have you been taking any stimulants, Benadryl, or sleep aids?

yes I keep having intermittent diarrhea but have been told it could be a lingering result of my incident w sepsis(the antibiotics)...but that was months ago no Stmmulants benadryl or sleep aids etc... I do have a little stress but nothing like it used to be

i get this from time to time in my front delts generally after doing shoulders or inclines as well but its never lasted more than a couple hours.
I tend to think my is related to my back being out of alignment b/c after i pop my back a couple of times it seems to subside...i could be totally off though

How do you do your side laterals? Form? Lean forward, strict straight up? weight coming in front of you, to the sides? Standing, seated?

Okay, I’m only taking a stab in the dark, here and am probably way off mark, but… I’m just wondering if you’re experiencing some degree of fasciculation, which is a small, involuntary muscle contraction that sounds similar to what you described. Fasciculation can be caused by a large number of things, including Magnesium deficiencies, which often result from diarrhea-induced dehydration. Anticholinergic drugs like Benadryl, as well as stimulants like caffeine and ephedrine/pseudoephedrine can also cause the twitching in some people. Muscular overexertion and/or unconsciously tensed muscles resulting from sustained stress can be a culprit, as well. If you’re prone to this condition, any of the above - or a combination, thereof - may be causing the symptoms to manifest.

Monday I did them sitting straight up w/strict form. I did both just side and side and front combined. Might consider a good neck/trap massage from time to time. Or a complete upper body massage. Sound like a slight nerve stress in that area, which could be the root cause for the delt muscle twitch. A massage will relieve most of that. Which, in return, give more strength to the shoulder area. Suggest a good deep sport or Rolfing (be warned, this hurts like hell at first) treatment.
Could also be along the spine area, which a visit to a chiropractor may help greatly.A good adjustment, or massage , along that area can make all the difference in the world. Actually nerve/muscle twitching is all fairly common stuff for guy's who train. Good Luck.

I've gotten - and still get - occasional muscle twitches. Most are sporadic and last about a day and a half at most. Is this the first time you've experienced them? If it were me, I wouldn't be at all concerned until/unless it becomes a frequent and recurring problem. Try eating some raw broccoli and/or cooked spinach for a few days. That may determine if your problem is tied to magnesium levels.

I had a similar condition like this 2 years back when I sprained my shoulder while travelling and continued with my training thereafter I was experiencing irritating pain and screeching sounds in my rear deltoid region .My orthopedic told me I had an Acromio clavicular joint space which is a form of tendonitis analysing my xray report.Rest ,hotwater bag and anti inflamatory fixed it.
