one of the things I liked about this flick (why I thought it is a well structured movie) is because of the family story layed over the larger theme

part of the flick was the fact that the parents were concurently unaware/oblivious, in shock, and yet cheered on the "results"

Of course she did, most people are...this family represented the mindset of just about every American out there when it comes to PED's.
