Sometimes transplants are not doable as in there isn`t enough loss of hair to warrant surgery.  Extensions are easier, non evasive and can be styled any way the client wants.  Also, transplants still will not look as good as the best hair extensions.  Once you do a transplant you are stuck with the results and a lot of the times they are quite horrid or too "row-like".  Its nearly impossible to mimic a persons natural hairline with transplants.  Extensions bypass all of this and is what you see on most actors and of course actresses and singers etc...
