He may not have to deal with situations as grave as Obama does, but he has to deal with things that are important to the business and his work days are often 12hours+ and golfing is how he chooses to relax. Doesn't mean he's slacking in other areas.

ABC News' Tahman Bradley reports:

President Obama just could not wait for spring weather to arrive.

For the second week in a row, the most powerful man in the world stepped away from the White House to hit the golf course.

Even as his administration and the U.S. military help Japan recover from a devastating earthquake, and as the world worries about Fukushima's nuclear reactor, the president could not resist taking advantage of the 48-degree weather in the Washington, D.C., area.

The president left the White House Saturday afternoon for a short trip to Joint Andrews Base in Camp Springs, Md.

With cloudy skies, it's not the best weather for golf, but Obama loves to spend his Saturdays on the greens. Last fall, Obama went golfing darn near every weekend.

These are never quick "work on your swing" trips; usually the president plays 18 holes, as he did last week.

I ask you to tell us how many hours per week the man with the most powerful job on the planet should be able to catch his breath.

Then I ask you to tell us how he should spend that refresh time.

You wouldn't be happy if he was working 5:30 AM until 11 pm every day on the problems of the world - you'd call him irresponsible for not recharging mental abilities - no human makes good decisions working that much.

Seems pretty excessive for a guy holding the most important job on the planet. Especially when you factor in all the parties, ball games, galas and so on. There are private sector workers who put in more hours than Obama.

And that was fine - his apparatus was doing their job to influence things as much as possible (and there wasn't much we could do there).

I'm just saying Bush spent something like 1/4 of his presidency on vacation, but he was able to do his job because of things like cell phones and the internet. hell, a president could run the whole country on Air Force 1 for 4 years, and it would function the same as if he was kicking the breeze in the Rose Garden.
