You can cry, I tryed that for a few years! never got me any place. I decided I control my reality, and I'm gonna do what I wanna do.
It's all up to you folks! all for the taking! Are you man enough to take it? or are you choosing to be defeated? All up to you!

On this part we are in full agreement.

Quote
racism will always be there and goes that goes for all races

On this I heartily disagree. Racism is a product of ignorance. It did NOT always exist, and will NOT always exist.
Racism was introduced into society in order to support & justify a despicable institution.
It WILL BE eradicated, however an institution that flourishes for 600+ years, is not easily dispensed with overnight, ...however, truth, like water will always find a way to express itself, ...whether through condensation or rain, rivers of truth continuously seek expression, and like water with persistence will erode & chisel away even the hardest of rocks.

agreed and you will never rid the world of ignorance...

racism has been around for much longer than 600 years

racism stems from stereotypes and stereotypes are engrained in us through billions of year of evolution

there will always be racism in some form or another it may get better from time to time but dont think its going to be eradicated...get a white person to go walk around iraq or afghanistan without an m16 and body armour and see what happens...

Stereotypes are ingrained by miseducation & propaganda. Modern mass media has solidified it and raised miseducation to a fine art. How else would you account for the ignorant comments of those who wax on about a particular group, who have never even met a member of that group?

Stereotypes are not natural, not among those who have no first hand experience with the group depicted.
They are taught to us and reinforced in us through miseducation, and propaganda, ...and they are confirmed by us, through our own ignorance.

Wrong again...

stereotypes are engrained by personal experiences propagated by mass media not doubt

its the personal experience that creates the stereotypes though...

stereotypes are MOST CERTAINLY natural...where do you get this shit from? LMFAO

stereotypes are a self defense mechanism brain child, if a cave man saw a wild animal eat a friend guess what he thought the next time a wild animal like that was seen?

if a person sees a bunch of a certain group do something what do you think they will start to think of when they see another group of the same kind?

perfectly natural, seriously where you get your info?

Good points, and if one closely examines statistics on race concerning crime rates, incarceration rates, high school failure rates, children born out of wedlock rates, teen pregnancy rates, it is only rational that one would draw a logical conclusion.

ppl are still racist for shure, hell I live in Canada, and some of my relatives who live in Windsor Ontario, outside Detroit say the most racist things. I look at racism as prejudices we ll judge with out really knowing sometimes and that will run you into problems. You cant drive blind and that's the problem with snap judgment you think you know but don't leaving you making mistakes or missing open doors. In the end your mistakes set you back. Evil distroys it's self in the end! So no need for resentment, they made a mistake and it will cost them, you should move on because it's not your problem it's theirs! Easier said than done, but if you stay positive and keep going you will be rewarded with doors opening when you least expect them to Wink

The main thing is you have a right to be here, and no one has the right to say otherwise!

White people are not better then non-white people, but being white in the USA, even today, is much better than being non-white.     Smiley

Race does have a negative effect on the life of minorities in the US.

2004 RACE DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT AGAINST CRACKER BARREL

MONDAY, MAY 3, 2004
JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SETTLES RACE DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT AGAINST CRACKER BARREL RESTAURANT CHAIN

The Justice Department's complaint alleges that Cracker Barrel violated Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by engaging in a pattern or practice of discrimination against African-American customers and prospective customers on the basis of their race or color. Specifically, the complaint alleges that Cracker Barrel:

- allowed white servers to refuse to wait on African-American customers;
- segregated customer seating by race;
- seated white customers before African-American customers who arrived earlier;
- provided inferior service to African-American customers after they were seated; and
- treated African-Americans who complained about the quality of Cracker Barrel's food or service less favorably than white customers who lodged similar complaints.

The Justice Department's investigation revealed evidence of such conduct in approximately 50 different Cracker Barrel restaurants in seven states: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Merrill Lynch
Charges of discrimination towards minority employees

In July 2006, a lawsuit alleging discriminatory hiring and promotion practices was brought by over 70 current and former African-American employees. Following commencement of the action, additional employees joined the suit and counsel is now seeking class-action status. These legal actions remain unresolved as of May 2008.

On June 26, 2007, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) brought suit against Merrill Lynch,[32] alleging the firm discriminated against Dr. Majid Borumand because of his Iranian nationality and Islamic religion, with "reckless disregard" for his protected civil rights.[33] The EEOC law suit maintains that violations by members of the firm were intentional and committed with malice. In another case concerning mistreatment of another Iranian employee by Merrill Lynch on July 20, 2007, less than a month after EEOC law suit, a NASD arbitration panel ordered Merrill Lynch to pay its former Iranian employee, Fariborz Zojaji, $1.6 million for firing him due to his Persian ethnicity.[34][35][36] Merrill Lynch's actions prompted reactions from both the National Iranian-American council, and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.[37]

In its June 2008 issue, Diversity Inc. named Merrill Lynch one of the top 10 companies for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered employees, and the #7 top company in the US for diversity overall. In 2007, Merrill Lynch was named the #2 best company in the US for people with disabilities by Diversity Magazine.[38] As of June 5, 2008, Merrill Lynch has created the West Asian, Middle Eastern and North African (WAMENA) Professional Network to help support and provide additional resources for employees of diverse backgrounds. In May 2008, Merrill Lynch was named the #1 US company for "Diverse College Graduates" by Diversity Edge magazine, edging out Microsoft for the top spot on the rankings.[39]

New Jersey appeals court on August 13, 2008 rendered a ruling against Merrill Lynch in a discrimination law suit filed by a gay employee.[40]

When you hear the word racist here in America you think of whites being the racist and blacks being the victims.
I don't understand why but in my years of living around both races, I find blacks are far more racist against whites. To call a white man "cracker" or red neck is far more politically correct than calling a black person "guy".
 I feel this way:
There are white people and there are white trash/red necks...there are black people and there are guys...how you behave and live your life is what determines your label.
Also: when I tried to just write the word guy without the hyphen in was edited to "GUY" but nothing was down to red neck or cracker...
validation is a wonderful thing...LOL

actually its not a matter of opinion brain child, its a fact...

you are censored when you try to use the N word but chink, spec, red neck  or any other racial slur is not...

again not opinion brain child, simply fact...

why not address that?
