What happens to the price of gas when you tax oil companies more?  Does it go up or down?

Probably they will just give it away for free.   Come one, come all, it will all be free now!     ;D  ;D

I guess the question is - how much are the oil companies going to grow if these taxes aren't applied ?

How many new jobs will now not be created because of the tax?
good question i think the recent recession is a good example of what will likely happen. The companies still have greater profits they just did it by laying ppl off and becoming more efficient.

The companies arent going to lose money, thats why there in business they just lay ppl off and find ways to cut waste to ensure profits.

Look at the companies now they are sitting on more capital than at any other time in american history in the midst of one of the worst economic down turns this country has seen. There going to get their money even if it means laying ppl off to do it.
