i'm not sure how my uncle is dealing with this but i'm sure he's happy since the fallout will carry over to america. the man enjoys his japanese wives and mistresses, so radioactive japanese women would cramp his style.

Those teams, of about 150 people and 12 rescue dogs trained to find survivors, were expected to arrive Sunday morning and immediately begin working alongside Japanese and international teams.

"We are very, very excited to go over and help the people of Japan," said Don Kunitomi, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which is sending rescue teams to Japan. "They'll be going on lack of sleep for quite a while."

At least 48 other countries and the European Union also have offered relief to Japan, and supplies and personnel are already on the way.

From my poor understanding it's when the core has started melting but has not breached containment... yet.
