« on: March 24, 2011, 02:04:09 PM »
is it dissatisfaction + insecurity with our bodies/financial status/education that drives us to succeed?

so that begs the question...

are homeless people of the world the most satisfied with their lives with the most self esteem?

we always want more, it's part of human nature...never satisfied nature of a predator ;D
money, accomplishments etc raise your happiness and self-esteem for a while...then you start comparing yourself with "better" people..."the circle of dissatisfaction"...and if you become the best at something...science, politics, bodybuilding ;D...there's nothing left to accomplish and you should simply kill yourself...the only thing that brings us long-term happiness is seeing our own children grow and become "mini-mes"...but when they grow up, move away and start their route in the same rat circle we get depressed, weaken our immune system, get sick and pass away...dissatisfied...ju st my two million cents..

Lots of them are. Lots of them are totally satisfied with their life.

Some of them are just psychos and bitter drug addicts who wish they had more.

Many of them are people who achieved very real spiritual enlightenment. Very real ego dissolution and oneness.

I believe experts say the happiest people in the world or of those in 'tribes' that have no currency.

I know as I get older, I'm much happier and comfortable with who I am. As a result I'm less and less concerned with things like what I drive.
I recently downgraded houses and got rid of the expensive car, even though I'm making more money then ever.

The guy whos satisfied with his row boat, is better off then the guy in the 10 million dollar yacht whos envious of the guy in the 20 million dollar yacht.  Which is probably why 90% of americans spend their day on some type of drug, getting fucked up, and taking anti depressants.

Depends what you consider a "mental disorder".

About half of them are perfectly sane i'd say. Maybe over half. But these people usually wear clean clothes and you don't identify them as homeless when you see them on the street.

this usually occus when the person is waking up, or fallen asleep, attaining a certain Nirvana--creating a "cold heat" or cold fusion...

i ws honestly not into making $ till my girl got double kidney failure...now my goal in the next 5 years is to be making enough $ that she doesn't have to work anymore and have enough of a nest egg for emergencies.
I've always driven a civic (versa right now)...they have always been manual  transmission....and just radio and AC..clothes wise i've always been an old navy guy...i've NEVER been a showy guy...i make good money but I usually end up spending it on overly expensive wine (yes i'm a wine snob)...or expensive vacations (yes..nothing but the best hotel for my girl)

..i know a lot of physicists..(ok i know 2)...both really dont make that much $ but both are real happy.

This is correct. And supposedly 60% of all homeless people in America have been arrested for child sex crimes. Something to think about the next time you want to give a homeless guy a dollar.
