This guy, who is one of the greatest MMA experts on the net, gives an interesting anlyses of Fedor as he stands in the year 2011. Apparently, the difference in weight between Fedor and Silva was not the 57 lbs I originally thought, but something like 65 lbs. That is a
ridiculous weight difference. It is the difference between a lightweight and a light-heavyweight. And Fedor is so good he that he went 1-1 on 2 rounds and lost due to a doctor stoppage. I believe that, even past his prime, Fedor is probably still the best fighter on the planet under 250 lbs. Not pound-for-pound, but in the sense he could probably defeat all fighters under that weight. The only fighter under 250 lbs that would give him trouble iis Velasquez. Jones, for all his athleticism and agility, doesen't have the power to hang with Fedor in the stand-up.
