here's a superbowl dyk....... dyk that the first person to appear as  both a coach and player on a superbowl winning team was tom flores of the oakland raiders first as a player than later as a coach beating the eagles.

dyk  that a baseball fan was shot to death at a baseball game on july 4 1950 at the polo grounds. he was 54 year old bernard doyle former manager of boxer james braddock the cinderella man.  some 14 year old kid had found a gun and decided to shoot it off for july 4. doyle was the unlucky recipent of the bullet which struck his brain and instantly killed him.... kid did 2 years in juvie for the mishap....play resumed and someone else took his vacated seats , hey it was the dodgers vs giants what could be better on a  4 th of july in ny...

dyk cecil and prince fielder are the only father and son to each hit 50 homers in a season.  don't see that happening again...

dyk that pitcher gary peters hit a home run  for 9 straight years which is a record for pitchers. gary also holds the record for pitchers by hitting 4 pinch hit homers in his career Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked he hit a total of 19 for his  career...

dyk that carl mays lead the american league in both wins 27 and saves 7 in 1921, he also lead the league in innings pitched with 336..... the year before he threw a pitch that caused ray chapman's death the only guy to die fron a pitch... Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry mays won 26 that year.

dyk that stan the man musial was the first major leaguer to hit 5 homeruns in one  day... he did it in as doubleheader 3 in one and 2 in other = 5 for day...                        vastly underrated superstar of baseball.
