His overall approval rating is under 50%, which is usually NOT GOOD NEWS for a sitting president, especially one that was once touted as unbeatable after Bin Laden's death.

Not to mention the polls that have him either tied or LOSING to a generic Republican candidate.

That is a major problem.

Actually, on both Rasmussen and Gallup, he sits at 43%. His RCP average is underwater by a couple tenths of a point.

He should spend more time winning the primaries than going after Obama. The election is over a year away and if Rick Perry decides to enter the race, he's going to be in deep count. Never count your chickens before they hatch. Obama isn't going to start running ads or truly campaigning until the GOP primary is completed and the minute it is, the machine wheels will start spinning
