update: Other women may buy shoes that Williams for example advertises - that's why some female athletes have contracts. Nothing to do with them being watched by hundreds of millions of peoples when they try to play tennis.

I just clarified this on my post but you were too quick, bro.

No, thet don't get contracts because hundreds of millions follow them when they try to do sports. No. They get contracts because other females may buy shoes they advertise ect.

Women in general want to feel capable and that's why they identify with female athletes who they think are capable.
