Showtime Developing The Damned TV Series With Watchmen And X2 Writer!
An adaptation of the Oni Press graphic novel which sees a man trying to reclaim his soul in a city overrun by gangsters and demons has been given the green-light, and it's set to be written by none other than David Hayter...
While Marvel may have plans to bring more superheroes to the small screen, plenty of other comic books are also being adapted in the meantime. This time, it's The Damned, details of which you can find below. Here is an excerpt from the report from Deadline.

Showtime has put in development The Damned, a drama series project based on independent graphic novel and comic book publisher Oni Press’ comic book limited series. It will be written by feature writer David Hayter who has co-penned several big-screen comic book adaptations – X-Men, X2 and Watchmen.

The Damned is described as a modern adaptation of the comic, written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Brian Hurtt. It will revolve around Eddie, a cursed man, who is stuck in the middle of a turf war in modern day Chicago where mobsters are demons. Eddie must play all the angles to keep the warring families at bay while trying to reclaim his soul.

I've never actually heard of The Damned, but it certainly sounds interesting enough, and there's no doubting the writing credentials of David Hayter. Could this be a success like The Walking Dead or cancelled before we even get to see it like Wonder Woman and Locke and Key.
