Why do poor people breed like rats?

Did they do this before welfare programs?

Because they are not forced to work.

seems like the poorer and dumber, the more babies the people make.  Look at the poorest and most uneducated countries - they are having 4 or 6 babies.

on the other hand, the population in the US seems to have leveled off, as more educated people finish school and start careers first - then only have 1 or 2 babies.

Interesting points highlighted below.

http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/08/insurers-required-to-cover-birth-control-with-no-copays.php

Insurers Required To Cover Birth Control With No Copays

The Obama administration announced on Monday that health insurance plans must cover birth control with no copays, among other reproductive health care services, as preventative care for women. The requirement will apply to health care plans beginning on or after August 1, 2012. The announcement comes just a month after Health and Human Services released a recommendation that sought to expand preventative services for women under Obama's health care law.

In addition to birth control, the expansion will cover breast pumps for nursing mothers, an annual "well-woman" physical, including screening for the virus that causes cervical cancer, HIV, and gestational diabetes, as well as counseling for domestic violence.

The guidelines, which were released by Health and Human Services, are based on a scientific review conducted by the Institute of Medicine, an independent, nonprofit organization that gives advice to decision makers and the public. By adding birth control to the list of recommended preventative services, the committee hopes to reduce the rate of unintended pregnancies, which compose almost half of all pregnancies in the United States.

"The committee defined preventive health services as measures -- including medications, procedures, devices, tests, education and counseling -- shown to improve well-being, and/or decrease the likelihood or delay the onset of a targeted disease or condition," said the report's authors.

They argue that birth control methods, services, and education should be available "so that women can better avoid unwanted pregnancies and space their pregnancies to promote optimal birth outcomes," according to the Institute of Medicine.

Indeed, a recent survey found that 78 percent of Americans "believe the federal government should subsidize birth control and other family planning services, excluding abortion, at government-funded clinics for low-income women."

While the recommendations received a generally positive reception, it was met with criticism by faith-based groups and conservatives who view contraception use as akin to abortion.

Jeanne Monahan, director of Family Research Council's Center for Human Dignity, said: "Several drugs have been approved by the FDA to be legally categorized as 'emergency contraceptives,' despite functioning in ways that can destroy a preborn baby before or after implanting in the mother's womb. A federal mandate to all insurance plans to include [these drugs] ... essentially would mandate coverage for abortion."

In an effort to appease faith-based groups, the Obama administration incorporated an exception to the law that would allow "religious institutions that offer insurance to their employees the choice of whether or not to cover contraception services."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Odd that it's all religious based denouncement.

Also, the money that your wife / girlfriend saves by getting her free checkups and free birth control will probably make up the difference in your premium or co-pays for other items.

Again -  HOW HARD IS THIS FOR YOU TO GRASP?

When premiums keep going up - less businesses are going to hire people.

How many times do we need to replay this shit show where the good intentions of the dreamers leads to disaster?

The women who are going to take advantage of the free BC are ones that would have gone and bought it anyways.  The one's that need to be on it and are breeding rat-bastards aren't going to take it anyways.

No real change is going to come from the shitbags in society thru voluntary participation. Things like BC have to be made mandatory for those who are causing the problems.

Oh they are hiring.  They just aren't hiring 'fluff' jobs anymore.

If you have real skills and are willing to travel/relocate, you can easily find a job.

If you are a run-of-the-mill clerical or other unskilled worker... good luck.

Its going to drive premiums through the roof even further and businesses will again refuse to hire anyone.

Thank you Obama - you economic ignoramus.

Keep your head in the sand bro.   Its really sad to see how otherwise intelligent people completely subvert all common sense and reality in order to support Obama for some unknown reason.

I don't even get the race thing either to be honest.  Blacks are being hurt the worst by his policies and he has never done a god damned thing in his life to so much lift a finger to help black people.

LMAO.  You are mixing way too many issues.

This is about the Obama Junta dictating private carriers provide birth control at no cost to women.  Well who pays for that?

If I pay say 500 a month now, and after this, I AM FORCED BY OBAMACARE MANDATES, to now pay 525 a month - despite the fact that I dont use birth control and not a woman, what do you call that?
And appaently this...
breast pumps for nursing mothers, an annual "well-woman" physical, screening for the virus that causes cervical cancer and for diabetes during pregnancy, counseling on domestic violence, and other services.

So now businesses get sacked with higher costs and refuse to higher due to cost.

Funny how Mal finds it so difficult to comprehend common sense.

It will be hard to find a job that offers health insurance by the time Obamacare kicks in.  The cost to employers will be just too high.

I'm just trying to figure out how anyone w a clue thinks this will do anything but skyrocket premiums, retard employer offered health benefits, and do anything but pile on an already horrible employment situation.

Mal makes it personal, which is fine, but the reality of the situation is that those of us who said this would be a complete fiasco and disaster are being proven right.

I know that is a bitter pill to swallow for my cadre of haters.

About time they started with this.

I especially like this - expansion will cover breast pumps for nursing mothers, an annual "well-woman" physical, including screening for the virus that causes cervical cancer, HIV, and gestational diabetes, as well as counseling for domestic violence.

Fantastic news.
Abandon every hope...

New ObamaCare mandate: no co-pays on contraceptives (Or “counseling on domestic violence.”)
Hotair ^ | 08/02/2011 | Ed Morrissey

The ObamaCare bill has resulted in an explosion of ambiguity and arbitrary rulings, mainly focused at first on temporary waivers for some insurers and employers on requirements for meeting the threshold of payouts to premiums. The Department of Health and Human Services stopped issuing waivers under pressure from Congress to explain their methodology, but a new ruling by Kathleen Sebelius will likely prompt even more protests. The Obama administration ordered insurers to cover prescription contraceptives and a range of other “women’s wellness” services and products without co-pays:

Health insurance plans must cover birth control as preventive care for women, with no copays, the Obama administration said Monday in a decision with far-reaching implications for health care as well as social mores.

The requirement is part of a broad expansion of coverage for women’s preventive care under President Barack Obama’s health care law. Also to be covered without copays are breast pumps for nursing mothers, an annual “well-woman” physical, screening for the virus that causes cervical cancer and for diabetes during pregnancy, counseling on domestic violence, and other services.

“These historic guidelines are based on science and existing (medical) literature and will help ensure women get the preventive health benefits they need,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

The new requirements will take effect Jan. 1, 2013, in most cases. Tens of millions of women are expected to gain coverage initially, and that number is likely to grow with time. At first, some plans may be exempt due to a complex provision of the health care law known as the “grandfather” clause. But those even plans could face pressure from their members to include the new benefit.

Let’s put this in its proper context. Thanks to this new mandate, insurers will eat hundreds of millions or perhaps billions of dollars in additional costs each year. Guess how they will recoup those costs? Premiums will rise across the board, meaning that everyone will pay the additional cost as well as the specific patients getting the services and products.

Does this solve some sort of pressing gap in society? Not really. As the Huffington Post report notes, contraceptive use is already nearly universal. The report quotes a government study that shows 90 million prescriptions for contraceptives are dispensed annually. Clearly, there is no big gap in access due to having co-pays for the Pill. If poor women had problems paying the additional cost, then HHS could have ordered Medicaid to end co-pays, a power that was already within their jurisdiction before ObamaCare’s passage.

So where does this end? Do we next mandate an end to co-pays on Lipitor because cholesterol is a problem in American health? I can tell you that the co-pays on that medication are higher than on most and probably represent more of a barrier to access than co-pays on the Pill, let alone access to breast pumps and counseling on domestic violence.

This is a preview of life under ObamaCare. This edict got handed down from the mountain purely for political purposes. The Obama administration wants to bolster its standing with women ahead of the next election; this mandate will probably get featured in an endless series of campaign ads. “President Obama protects women!” the copy will read. In the meantime, rational provider-patient cost sharing on non-critical products and services will be discarded, forcing the rest of us to eat the cost in higher premiums. It’s the ultimate in arbitrary exercises in authority.

And people wonder why employers, who have to price the costs of adding positions, aren’t hiring any more.

It would be nice if it just ended at free birth control pills.  I could support that.  Nothing more.
