What's he scared of again? A guy that so far:

- Has 39% approval rating,
- Watched his party get MURDERED last November,
- Is statistically TIED with the "honkey boy" and the "flip flopper" in Ohio
- Who got us downgraded for the first time in American history.
- Only concern is with PUBLIC-SECTOR UNIONS, a mere 7% of the working population (private-sector unions and everyone else are screwed)
- Is bleeding independents and white voters by the truckload
- Is losing Hispanics left and right
- Has been chastised by black voters, for not stepping foot in the black community during his bus tour
- Gave half-a-billion dollars to his "green" jobs cronies, whose businesses went belly-up.
- Whose healthcare debacle is INCREASING premiums, something he swore wouldn't happen
- Who ADMITTED that his stimulus wasn't as "shovel-ready" as he said it would be.

Yep, 333386 is really scared, alright!!

And, it only gets worse:

Obama’s Swing State Blitz Yields Little

President Obama has been campaigning almost non-stop since Labor Day, but his political fortunes have hardly improved. Obama’s September blitz through swing states, backed up with an aggressive media schedule, has apparently yielded little for the embattled incumbent.

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Obama dragging a 42 percent job-approval rating in Ohio and already evenly matched by Republican frontrunners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney in the all-important Buckeye State, where Obama has campaigned twice in three weeks.

And so it is across the states where Obama has focused his efforts in this first round of campaigning.

In Ohio and neighboring Pennsylvania, 51 percent of voters said Obama didn’t deserve a second term. In Virginia, the lynchpin to Obama’s 2012 strategy, a Roanoke College poll found the president with a 39 percent rating. In North Carolina, the great Obama success story of 2008, a High Point University poll finds the president with a 41 percent job-approval rating.

Obama has succeeded, though, in bucking up base voters and quieting some calls for a primary challenge. Even as he has been crisscrossing swing states making his case to disaffected middle-class moderates, Obama has been making a tightly targeted effort to energize gay activists (including having Lady Gaga on hand for his California fundraising swing and speaking at a banquet for the leading gay political group, the Human Rights Campaign, this weekend) and to show dispirited black political leaders that he shares their outrage over the current state of affairs (“Take off your bedroom slippers…”)

The biggest base play Obama has made, though, has been his proposal for a massive tax increase for top earners. The $1.5 trillion package was a dead letter even with Democratic supermajorities in both houses of Congress, but proposing it again has been a way for Obama to show his good faith with his core supporters. It is an implicit promise about his agenda for a second term, as are Obama’s frequent reminders about the unfinished work and perilous situation of his most significant accomplishment, a national health care law.

(The administration’s decision to drop its opposition to an expedited Supreme Court hearing of the central challenge to the controversial law fits into this strategy, too.)

While this effort -- along with the clarifying effects of panic among his fellow Democrats -- may have helped Obama find a new floor in his national support in the low to mid 40s, disapproval for the president has continued to grow as moderates, uneasy with Obama since his 2009-2010 health push, recoil from his latest proposals for a third stimulus plan and tax increases.

This is the cruelty of political life for a weak incumbent: Base voters require increasing reassurance to prevent a catastrophe, but those reassurances only push moderates and independents farther out of reach.

Apparently you have a short memory. Try 2001 to 2009 and the Dems' obsession with Bush.

exactly. the dem media had a field day with bush. i would like to see the reports of negative news on bush compared to obama. the country was nowhere near as bad of shape but the media hated bush. i really don;t understand it either. they made fun of his speaking but the man has a handicap where he sees thing he reads backwards....kind of cruel wasn;t it?

Madoff / Vandersloot could beat Obama at this point, who is probably going to resign in scandal and disgrace anyway.

Wrong again, O goofy one. Neither 333386 nor I need anyone to explain why Obama boneheaded agenda SUCKS!! It’s self-explanatory. Stevie Wonder can see it. Unfortunately, a blithering crackpot like you can’t.

You apparently don't get it. The same thing happened with Perry. People were begging him to join two months ago. Now, he's in. If Christie joins the fray, some will beg for someone else. It's part of the game.

I’m not concerned about Chris Christie. If he runs, he runs; if he doesn’t, he doesn’t (though he’s said repeatedly that he will not) Regardless of who wins the GOP nomination, Obama is cruising to getting the taste slapped out of his mouth, something that repeatedly happens to YOU, when you have the stones to actually show up here without the mods moving your threads here from G&O.

Nobody gave Herman Cain a change. Now, he's polling within a few points of Obama. That's a testament of two things: Cain surging and Obama continuing to TANK!!

The mere fact that you're running your mouth about Palin shows that your poster boy is WILTING. You have to pray that the GOP picks a dud, because Obama's sorry record. You thought Obama was a lock 5 months ago; now, you’re scrambling and sweating, hoping the GOP ends up with what you and other liberals think is the only Republican Obama can beat, with his sorry record.

As the weeks go by, the question changes from "Can any of the GOP field beat Obama?" to "WHICH ONE will beat Obama"?

2012 Presidential Matchups : Obama 44%, Christie 43%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | SEPTEMBER 29, 2011 | Rasmussen Reports

Posted on Friday, September 30, 2011 11:46:49 AM by RobinMasters

Few expect him to run, but New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is essentially even with President Barack Obama in an early look at a hypothetical Election 2012 matchup.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows that Obama earns 44% support in the matchup, while Christie attracts 43%. Six percent (6%) prefer a third option, and eight percent (8%) are undecided. These numbers place Christie in the same league as other top GOP hopefuls within single digits of Obama including former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Texas Governor Rick Perry and businessman Herman Cain. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

However, just 26% believe the first-term governor is likely to run for the White House, a figure that includes only five percent (5%) who think he is Very Likely to run. Twenty percent (20%) of all voters think Christie should run for the White House, but nearly twice as many (37%) say he should not.

Among Republicans, 32% say he should run, 25% hold the opposite view, and 43% are not sure. Just 31% of GOP voters believe he is even somewhat likely to run, while 44% see a Christie campaign as unlikely.

obama 44, christie 43.

So despite christie being unknown on many divisive issues... his initial BEST is essentially tied with obama?

yikes.  I bet you put HILARY vs Obama and it's Clinton 58%, Obama 35% with the rest too busy laughing to answer the Q.

I love seeing the anti-Obama "repubs" defending candidates like Christie - with a dozen liberal positions - because they like his SPEAKING STYLE.

it's 08 Obama all over again.  I can assure you, if you put another face on those exact same chrstie positions, 33 is trashing the dude all day.

TA is 100% correct, Obama seriously owns your fragile, ignorant, sensitive-tit mind.  Just look at your post history, every single post (not an exaggeration; every post) is about him.  We do have a politics board but for some reason you come onto a bodybuilding forum of all places and shat out your banal, repetitive, party-line drivel on a daily, nay hourly, basis.  Regardless of what specific issue you are posting about, you engage in no interesting discussion, present no interesting or relevant arguments, and are almost universally considered a terrible poster and waste of Ron's bandwidth by Getbig dems, repubs, centrists, Dorian fans, and Ronnie fans alike.  I'm not even a registered democrat and I hope Obama wins in a landslide just to agitate genetic dead ends like you into a merciful suicide event.
Great post. He will be imploding over this for days.
