Yeah, it only matters if it matters to you. It would matter to me and I don't think I could get over it. Luckily, I've never even been attracted to anyone taller than me so it's not an issue. I've always loved short women.

The height think is a real thing though. I'm 6' (6'3 on the internet) and have dated women that said they wouldn't date men shorter than they are. Thats on them. I have also dated women, not many, that in heels were taller than me. I didn't care, they didn't seem to care. Can't recall giving one second of thought to what others might think
