His voice always killed me.  I saw Eck on TV last night and he looks younger now than he did in the above pic.

 In real life they looked like superheroes

In that picture Jose was around 235 pounds at 6'4"  .....While Mark looks  a lot leaner than later years  he's 6'5"  .

Well, those were the days my friend ....

I was lucky enough to see those A's play the Sox at Fenway....great seats on the first base side.  After the game we got to meet some players as they actually parked along the street behind the stadium.  Dave Parker was a big dude.... Eck hung out and talked to a lot of the locals as he knew them from his days in Beantown.

Had day games...

I'm not looking to go back to 1971 (the last time all WS games were played in the daytime) but it would be nice to have a couple of the games end when people with jobs can stay up for the entire game.
