I was only referring to its use and arrival on internet forums. Didn't know that it originated in Harlem though ,so thanks, I guess.

I never really got into either of these phrases, but true statement right here ^^^^

Having lived in both BK and Harlem, I can definitely say that "Pause, no homo" was a regular part of the linguistics in these areas.  Actually, if you said something borderline gay and didn't use it, you'd be reminded to with a "Whoa, you better pause that homey"
