well lets be honest Derek would have a HUGE advantage in size and strength and would be able to easily absorb a lot of GSP's punches and kicks due to his mass but if George was able to tie him up on the ground and choke him out it would be a different story.

Gsp would take him down and if not submit him right away, just hold him down while poundstone gassed himself out. Ofc there is that little chance which james toney also had

i agree, he would have to hope for a very lucky knockout punch but if GSP took him to the ground and tied him up Derek would be finished.

gsp is 190-200 off, I guess that makes poundstone 400. and would use wrestling to Trip not "power wrestle"

he did improve a lot, especially condition-wise
in the first fight against thomson he gassed out after a couple of minutes
he used to literally fall on the ground from exhaustion in the 1st round
here he seemed to be less tired than thomson and ready for round 3

also have in mind that he was 10 kg ligther than thomson in this fight actually

and he's been training for 2 years

+ he's going back to the usa in January to train

yeah that's what he was doing for the last couple of months
and he's lost about 50 lbs since he started mma training i think, 22 lbs since his last fight

2. Mariusz HAS lost a tonne of size (and strength, obviously)

3. Mariusz is a far inferior fighter than all those he has fought ... and he still does reasonably well (holds his own, as it were). This should tell you something.

4. All this "gassed" bullshit needs to stop. True, cardio plays a HUGE role in sport fighting (and to a much lesser extent, real fighting), but to imagine that a pro strongman is unable to "go" for a period of time is foolhardy.

I agree mariuz strength and size advantage are not close to the advatage poundstone would have over gsp. Say what you will mariuz is doing decent as a fighter with only a strength back ground also he has lost tremdous strength and size
