Sorry, always felt he was overrated.
Also think the "many years" above is actually two. 5th in 1986, the 3rd place in 1988. Granted, he did get 6th place twice as well.
yesss many years..
started competing at the Universe in '83 with a 2nd place finish!
´84 2nd at the Universe being beaten by Bob Paris.
´85, pro debut at Night of the Champions 5th place finish!!
'85 his debut at the Olympia 6th place!
'86,87,88 all top 6 places with ´88 even 3rd! (in which he got screwed, i mean Gaspari?? come on)
so from '83 up until his pec tear in '89 all top competitions, all with top 6 finishes!
Top , Top bodybuilder..
you can differ about taste , but if you think Berry was overrated you really have no clue about bodybuilding!
berry is one of the legends right up there with Paris, , Strydom, Christian etc etc... one of the greats!
Mass combined with perfect symetry and balance... and great lines!
roelly can not even be compared to somebody like De Mey.....
de mey was only 230 at 6'1 but looked better then roelly and a lot of pro's nowadays!
and de Mey spent years at the top! top 6 in top competition for years....
shape! thats what you are born with..... can't by that in a vial....
and back then they actually rewarded shape and lines... today it's all about mass, and being the dryest...
