Taking a week off every now and then is a very good idea for consistent gains over time.  It's good to give your mind and body a break from lifting.

And no, you won't shrivel and lose all your gains in a 5-7 day period of time.

Take the time off bro,if u keep eatring well u might find you go back bigger and stronger after ur week off!!!!

I was looking foreward to starting a new program (switch from current program for 4 weeks) last monday, nut iv cum down with kinda flu bug and have spent most of the week sleeping (missing uni-whoops), i hate taking time off but actually wen i think about it, taking this week off is long overdue and probably the right thing to do before i start a new program.

Im trying to keep diet healthy but im not gonna feel guilty about having a few cheat meals (also missing rugby ,which sucks)

Hey,
Lately my gains have been slowing a little. I was thinking of taking the rest of the week of. My shoulders are still sore from last week. Will I still make gains this week? I have been going 5 days a week for the last 9 weeks I think.

Thank Ya,
Ben

Listen to your body. you will do nothing but good by taking a week or two off if you have been training hard for a while. i like to take a week off every 10-12 weeks. you will not lose anything and most likely you will come back stronger by the 3rd week back. recovery is way more important than most people think.

5 days a week is alot depending on volume.....Ect.

i have found that 3-4 days a week is more than enough, but do what works for you.

I ALWAYS return stronger - revitalized with periodic time (rest) off.

Time when body almost forces like after training crazy hard (typical:-),
too much travel (timezone changes) and funky sleep patterns (hotels).

Sometimes when I train especially hard, I HAVE TO take the next day off.
Legs could be 2 days off . . . except during programs ;-) like now.

Benfun7 - take the rest of week of - SAVE IT for next weeks growth . . .
