al-shahat's achievements make him one of the VERY best amateur bbs (who kept competing in the amateur level).. his physique was not the most beautiful but it was good enough to make him won the golden medal (in 3 different weights) all these times with many off years which means he could have won many more!!..

one of the all time great amateurs is Hamdallah Aykutlu... (spelling??)
he competed as a pro once i believe but remained amateur after that..... smart man!
