i'm sure some of you guys older than 30 remember Doug, he was the 275 class guy with a physique resembling an offseason pro bb'er who totalled 2400+ in the 80's, heard he was going into pro wrestling in Japan but that's the last i heard.

I think I still have a video that Doug did with Ed Coan in the 80s it was all about power lifting techniques. It was cool from what I remember, I'll look around and see if I still have it.

Here is what someone emailed me regarding Doug Furnas - 4 years ago, he was stricken with Parkinson's disease. Nothing to do with drugs. To those who care about Doug, he is doing fine, and he has taken his time, and works with group homes for abused boys.

Someone very uninformed said years of drug dude that is what got him! Well I am
Doug Furnas and 4 years ago i was stricken with Parkinson's disease it is sad
when people write things they can have no idea about but just for a small amount
of time they feel as thought people are actually listing to what they have to
say. to those who care i am doing fine and the group homes I have for abused
boys are really taking off thank you for your time

Nope...it was not you. Doug Furnace works for the small town of Commerce, Oklahoma. He supervises the towns water and road crews. Weights about 190, never talks about the wrestling days as he is ashamed of it. He plays politics now, so not the guy he use to be, thats for sure. Call the town of Commerce, Oklahoma for proof if you need it. |
