You mentioned LI and it;s funny because sometimes on the weekends I will work the door with a few other guys and walk the patrons out to their cars after the game is done.  So far, and thank god, we have never had any robberies.  Two of the security guards (not me) are strapped though.

There's this little side street by my house where I notice the same car pull up and buy weed from one of my neighbors.  This is a good community we live in so I decided to take action.  

I threw on my ski mask and grabbed my 9mm.  I approached the car and explained to the kid inside that I didn't want to hurt anyone, but that he would have to give me his money and weed.  The gun wasn't loaded, so in order to sell the story I told him I have a young child (I'm only 18 lol) and that he could keep his phone.  I told him that it is very noticeable what he was doing and that if I was on to him, that many others could be as well.  So in the end, I probably helped him.  

Anyway, he only had $60, but it is better than nothing.  It will cover the shipping on my next gh order.

yeah, your's was before because what i remember happened about 4-5 years ago, and it really really killed poker in nyc because the really big clubs literally got raided every 2 weeks, it was nuts

after that there was also a shooting at a home game and also a robbery that went wrong right outside a big club

really the underground poker scene in nyc was always shit, it was a bad vibe everywhere you went

The clubs moved around a lot. This one was in a business park tucked behind and around legit businesses. Still, it takes a week or two for anyone who looks to find the place, especially if it's a John H run joint.

the best most high stakes and legit games were never robbed and didnt have security because no one brought money to them. everyone settled up later privately. but these midstakes games where you still had to be invited, but you were not necessarily in that tight nit crowd, i can imagine they can get pretty hairy

Exactly. And I wasnt playing 25-50 and up at that point. I watched some sick games played on markers. One guy was so degenerate he'd start in the AM playing 1/2 with college kids and by 1am was playing elsewhere 100/200. I learned that if he had a rough night at high stakes he would mega gamble at lower stakes the next day to blow off steam. Played him three handed and HU a lot because noone would give him action. He loved me LOL.

these things only work if the shooter has no intention of actually killing you, which makes it entirely pointless. but if you get robbed by someone who has little care whether he shoots the person he is robbing, then it's laughable to think that you can move your entire body faster than he can pull a trigger.
