True, some people can binge drink for many years, then stop or enjoy on occasion..
It means they're physically not addicted, maybe a mental thing (boredom, depression, etc like you mentioned)...

When I'm single I turn into a crazy binge drinker. Can't wait until the weekends. Drink my ass off Friday and Saturday night and recover on the couch all day Sunday. When I have a girlfriend I hate drinking makes me sick.
