Is Libya run by Islamists?
« on: September 12, 2012, 11:45:21 AM »

Confused about the dynamic there.  Their leader is apologizing for the death of the ambassador.  Feel like an Islamist would not apologize.

First of all there is no such thing as 'islamist' this is the construct of an ignorant idiot media.

Islam means submission to God

Muslim means one who submits to God

Mu+Islam = Muslim

In arabic the prefix mu is ascribing to something.

Athan/Azan (the prior more correct spelling) = call to prayer

Muezzin/Mu'adhdhin = one who calls to prayer

Secondly for the last two hundred years, Muslim lands were under occupation and oppression by colonialist British, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. America took over that role and for the last 50+ years has been imposing secular dictatorships and tyrants. Military rulers.

The uprisings in the muslim countries is by Muslims. We follow Islam. Some are weaker in faith, some are stronger in faith. Some are less practice than others but they are all Muslims and ultimately would want to rule their lives and way of life by islam.

Islam is a way of life. It is not a 'religion' that it is a bunch of rituals while you live your life any way you want by your desires as a lot of christians tend to do. Go clubbing then the next day go to church. Complete contradiction.

Muslims are to be ruled by a caliphate that lives by God's law not by his desires or his own desire of power and wealth.

The first four rightly guided caliphs are the right example. They sacrificed everything of themselves to serve the Muslim ummah (nation). They did not wield power to serve their own interests or eat of the wealth of the community. They lived poor, they died poor. They did not live in extravangece. Everything that came after was gradual corruption until Muslims became so weak that they abandoned Islam and hence the down fall. God says in the qur'an hold onto the rope of Allah so that you are succesfull.

The US however doesn't want the muslim world united, so it imposes weak rulers, dictators and now so called 'democracies'. Puppets.

The british did the same thing during the 'great game' who could conquer more land and divide more land. They had a tactic of divide and conquer. Instilling nationalism, materialism amongst the arabs. Waking up ancient tribal ties, nationalistic and ethnic prides. While the knowledge of islam weakened and people were merely then following culture and not following islam.

Yes.

When Muhammad (pbuh) passed away. No body wanted to take his place as a successor. That's another trait of caliphates. They do not RUN to power, they run away from it and fear it's responsibility unlike the leaders of today.

The Muslims had a shura (consultation) amongst themselves to decide who is best fit to lead the Muslim nation. There were a few discussions but ultimately Abu Bakr was chosen after a few evidences from Muhammad's own speech before he died made him worthy of it. He refused to take any wealth from the muslims and he died poor. He was not poor before islam, in fact he used his wealth to free slaves that the arabs were torturing and make them free men. As pre-islamic arabia had an abundance of slavery and Islam encouraged the freeing of slaves.

The allowance that was forced upon him (from muslim wealth) on his dying death bed he repaid even by saying I do not want to be left with any debt in this world. What property he had (land with orchards) he said give this to the muslim community so that i am free of debt before I meet my lord.

After him came Umar ibn Al khattab. Who was so fearful of taking power but ultimately did. He was a very tough person and people feared that he would be tough on them. He turned out to be tough on those who are unjust but like a baby (soft) in front of those that are just. His whole goal was to remind himself to be merciful to people. He would even question where his food came from. If the milk came from a camel that belonged to the muslim community he would get angry. He refused an allowance. Until his wife and family said they are living so poorly since you became the ruler. So the muslims forced him to take allowance as well. He asked for only two pairs of cloths for day and two for night.

When a roman emissary came to check on 'who is this leader of the muslims'. He came and asked where is your emperor. The muslim pointed to Umar sleeping under a tree during mid day. He asked does he not have guards or a palace? He returned to the roman emperor and reported this. He said something along the lines of these people we will not be able to defeat.

After him came uthman and after came Ali. between the period of Uthman and Ali there was a dispute and fighting, however it was settled. There were certain hypocrites who plotted to undermine Islam and Muslims. They tried to spread rumors and cause problems.

It was an unfortunate set of events. After that however there was no more authentic caliphate, it started being sultanates. From thereon come the shi'a ('the party') as well. They forged their religion after Ali passed away and his descendants. They turned it into a religion of mourning of their death and various other innovations. They make absurd claims about Ali having knowledge of the unseen, equal to God, etc... all blasphemous beliefs. Which Ali is free of, they invented. Lastly they also CURSE and CONDEMN pretty much ALL the companions of the prophet as heading to the hellfire. They hate even the wife of the prophet Aisha, they hate Umar, they hate Abu Bakr, they hate Uthman. They are messed up.

Sunnis derive from the term sunnah. Which means following the prophet's way and they are the majority today.

The reality is that just like everyone is a crazy bible belt christian in politics in the US, everyone in Libya, including their leader, isn't some crazy kook Muslim.
