Bell, Farrakhan BFFs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

by Ben Shapiro

Derrick Bell’s Faces at the Bottom of the Well is a fascinating take on racial politics. But he saves his most flattering words for an anti-Semite who called Judaism a “gutter religion,” believes that H1N1 flu vaccine was created to depopulate the earth, supported racist monster Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, and received backing from Moammar Gadhafi: Louis Farrakhan.

Here’s what Bell wrote about Farrakhan in his book:

Smart and superarticulate, Minister Farrakhan is perhaps the best living example of a black man ready, willing and able to 'tell it like it is' regarding who is responsible for racism in this country …. every black person important enough to be interviewed is asked to condemn Minister Farrakhan--or any other truly outspoken black leader.

No wonder black Harvard Law professor Randall Kennedy blasted Bell for “an egregious toleration of bigotry.” Even Henry Louis “Skip” Gates – a favored ally of President Obama, as we learned during the beer summit – denounced Bell for this, stating, “How can you call yourself an intellectual and not find anti-Semitism nauseating?”

BREAKING: Radical Cronyism? Sit-In Leader Nominated as Judge by Pres. Obama

(Also read: More Obama Tapes: Michelle Obama a Race Agitating Occupier?)

The leader of the occupation in the video — Robert L. Wilkins of the Harvard Black Law Students Association — was nominated by President Obama on May 20, 2010 to be considered for judge of the U.S. District Court, District of Columbia. He is now a sitting judge in that position.

From the White House press release:

President Obama Names Three to United States District Court

WASHINGTON- Today, President Obama nominated Judge Anthony Joseph Battaglia, Judge Edward J. Davila and Robert L. Wilkins to seats on the United States District Court.

“These distinguished individuals have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice throughout their careers,” said President Obama.  “I am grateful for their decision to serve the American people from the District Court bench.”

Robert L. Wilkins:  Nominee for United States District Court, District of Columbia
Robert L. Wilkins is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Venable LLP, where he practices primarily in corporate defense/white collar, technology, and commercial litigation.  Previously, Mr. Wilkins was an attorney with the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, where he was chief of special litigation from 1996 to 2000, and where he has served as a trustee from 2002 to 2007 and as vice chair from 2007 to 2008.  The Legal Times has named Mr. Wilkins one of the 90 Greatest Washington Lawyers of the Last 30 Years.  He was a founding member of the D.C. Access to Justice Commission and he has served on the D.C. Advisory Commission on Sentencing, the D.C. Truth-In-Sentencing Commission, and the D.C. Juvenile Justice Advisory Group.  As president of the National African American Museum & Cultural Complex, he helped to plan and create the National Museum of African American History and Culture within the Smithsonian Institution.  Following law school, Mr. Wilkins clerked for Judge Earl B. Gilliam of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.  Mr. Wilkins is a native of Muncie, Indiana.  He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1989 and his B.S. from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1986.

Not mentioned in the press release: that Wilkins once led an illegal occupation of a law school building to demand the school hire based on skin color, a protest primarily focused on supporting the actions of radical bigot Derrick Bell.

More Obama Tapes: Michelle Obama a Race Agitating Occupier?

March 7th, 2012 - 7:25 pm(UPDATED: Also read at the Tatler: Radical Cronyism? Sit-In Leader Nominated as Judge by Pres. Obama)

(UPDATED: Read Adams’ post at Breitbart: Obama’s Beloved Law Professor: Derrick Bell)

(UPDATED: Read at the Tatler: Jay Thomas to Joel Pollak: Why Are You Afraid of Black People?)

A treasure trove of information is coming out regarding Barack Obama’s time in college.  Over at the Breitbart sites, we are learning how Obama inserted himself into a fight to implement hiring on the basis of race at Harvard Law School.  The Obama tapes also seem to show the other Obama – Michelle – occupying the Harvard Law School dean’s office.  The occupiers were agitating for the race-based hiring of Harvard law professors.

The racialist fight at Harvard Law from 1988 to 1991 swirls around Professor Derrick Bell.  As detailed over at Big Government, Professor Bell was a role model to law student Barack Obama.  But he also openly advocated for a variety of racialist views wholly outside the American mainstream.  Some of them are outright crazy.  He deliberately used his position as a professor to teach racially charged theories of structural oppression by whites.  Obama, nevertheless, now famously urged us “to open up our hearts and minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell.”

Joel Pollack, editor-in-chief at Breitbart.com, said on Hannity tonight that WGBH in Boston didn’t even reply to Breitbart.com’s request to review the tapes buried in the WGBH archives.  So instead, I went for the Bigs to Boston and reviewed them last month.  More will be coming out about the racially charged fight that Obama participated in at Harvard.  Stay tuned.

I found that Barack might not be the only Obama on the tapes.

In May 1988, Harvard Law students, borrowing from Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, and foreshadowing the Occupy movement of 2011, occupied the Harvard Law School’s dean’s office.  The students were supporting Professor Derrick Bell’s demand that the law school hire professors on the basis of race.

One of the students “dressed in black” and occupying the dean’s office appears to be Michelle Obama (Harvard Law ’88).  Here is a link to the grainy video.  (lower right at about ten seconds in, wearing white Keds):

It is important to note that I had the opportunity to review all of the original Betamax videotapes in Boston where the video quality was significantly higher than the internet version.  While there is some chance this is not Michelle trespassing and “occupying” the dean’s office for racial hiring preferences, the Betamax video version leaves very little doubt it is her.  Perhaps someone in the mainstream media will ask the East Wing if Michelle Obama participated in a trespassing occupation of the Harvard Law School dean’s office to demand race-based hiring of professors.

Yesterday, Breitbart.com Editor-in-Chief Joel Pollak appeared on CNN to discuss the story of Derrick Bell and Barack Obama with host Soledad O'Brien. When Joel tried to explain the meaning of Derrick Bell's Critical Race Theory (CRT), Soledad interjected that his entire description of was "a complete misreading." (You can view the full exchange here.)

Joel responded by challenging Soledad to explain, in her own words, what CRT was. There was a delay, and then she offered an answer which was remarkably similar to the first line of the Wikipedia entry for CRT.
O'Brien said: "Critical race theory looks into the intersection of race and politics and the law."
Wikipedia reads: "Critical Race Theory (CRT) is an academic discipline focused upon the intersection of race, law and power."
Either anodyne description of CRT is about as helpful as describing the sinking of the Titanic as the intersection of a ship, the ocean, and an iceberg. It's not that it's false exactly, but it does leave out nearly all of the important detail.
Fortunately, we have another description of Critical Race Theory from an unimpeachable source: Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan.
In 1993, Kagan was asked to present a lecture on CRT. Her notes for that class, dated October 25, 1993, became part of the record during her confirmation hearings in 2010--but the Senate failed to press her on her support for a theory that, by her own admission, was race-obsessed and radical.
Kagan's lecture notes are instructive. After saying that CRT had expanded to the point of being somewhat nebulous, Kagan offered two descriptions. This first one was in summary form (page 153 of this pdf):
Still some things can be said to define and describe the movement as a whole. Most generally, what critical race theorists ask about is how legal doctrine -- legal doctrine of all sorts, ranging from constitutional law to labor law, from criminal procedure to civil procedure -- reflects and perpetuates racial subordination in America. What most critical race theorists believe is that law, in a variety of ways, works to maintain the subordination of members of minority groups. And what most critical race theorists believe is that the achievement of racial justice in this country, if possible at all, will require not merely the more even-handed application of current laws -- that will do less than nothing - but a root and branch transformation of the legal system.
Kagan then offered four "features" that define work that falls under the rubric of CRT:
Pervasiveness of racism: First, CRT takes as a given -- as its first premise -- that racism infects every aspect of American law and American life. That racism is deep and pervasive -- some would go so far as to say inevitable and permanent.
"Neutral" law as mechanism of racial subordination: Second, CRT attempts to show that the claims of the legal system to neutrality, to impartiality, and to objectivity are false claims. CRT attempts to show that the law -- even when it seems neutral and even-handed -- in fact works in the interest of dominant groups in American society and particularly in the interest of dominant racial groups. CRT attempts to show that the so-called "logic of the law," that so-called "neutral principles" are a sort of cover for a deeply ingrained system of racial domination.
Critical of civil rights strategies: Third, CRT generally is extremely critical of the activity -- the strategy and even the goals -- of the traditional civil rights movement. The thinking here is that the traditional civil rights movement believed that all that needed to be done was to make the laws neutral-- to end legal segregation in the schools, for example -- in order to achieve racial equality in America. But such reforms, critical race theorists say, were ineffectual, and necessarily so -- because they ignored the way even neutral laws could effect racial subordination. In addition, it might be said that critical race theorists see the civil rights movement as too "reformist," too "gradualist," not sufficiently committed to the broad-scale social transformations necessary to achieve racial equality.
Insistence on incorporation of minority perspectives and use of stories: Fourth, and relatedly, critical race theory insists that the law --legal doctrines of all sorts -- be reformulated, fundamentally altered, to reflect and incorporate the perspectives and experiences of so-called "outsider groups," who have known racism and racial subordination at first hand. Critical race theorists often write not in traditional, lawyerly terms, but with parables, and stories, and dialogues. The thinking is that these techniques can better demonstrate the actual experiences of members of minority group -- experiences which should be accepted by and incorporated in the law. In addition, the decision to spurn traditional techniques of legal argument reflects the belief that these apparently neutral techniques are not neutral at all -- that they have been the means of promoting not some objective system of truth and justice, but instead a system based on racial power.
Finally, Kagan demonstrated that Derrick Bell is an "examplar" of critical race theory:
Derrick Bell as examplar: Now Derrick Bell's writing illustrates each of these four aspects of critical race theory. He believes that racism is a pervasive-- and a permanent --aspect of American society. Read 1. He believes that the legal system is a means of promoting a system of racial subordination--even, or perhaps especially, when it makes claims to objectivity and neutrality. Read 2. He is deeply critical of the strategies and goals of the traditional civil rights movement--of which he used to be a part. And he insists that law must take into account the experiences of minorities, which he attempts to explicate through dialogues and stories.

Incidentally, Kagan is not the only one of Obama's Supreme Court appointees who is thought to have more than a passing familiarity with Critical Race Theory.

The issue came up in legal circles during debate over the nomination of Justice Sonya Sotomayor, particularly with regard to her comments that a "wise Latina" might reach a "better conclusion" than a white male, and her ruling (later overruled) against white firefighters alleging discrimination in the Ricci case.
Regardless, Critical Race Theory is emerging as an important theme among some of President Obama's most important influences--and most important appointments.

Derrick Bell in 1994: ‘Jewish Neoconservative Racists’
Comentary Magazine ^ | 3/9/12 | John Podhoretz
Posted on March 9, 2012 8:06:49 PM EST by Nachum

The controversy over the videotape of Harvard Law School student Barack Obama speaking in support of his professor Derrick Bell during Bell’s one-man 1990 uprising against the law school’s failure or refusal to hire a black woman as a professor has caused a predictable back-and-forth about what it might mean for Obama to have a favorable view of Bell. Michael Powell of the New York Times reflected conventional opinion in liberal media circles when he tweeted: “Derrick Bell, Radical? We’re to pretend our history cleansed? He fought 4 Civil Rights in Mississippi.”

It is incumbent on Powell and others, if they want to get in on the conversation about Bell, to explain what on earth is mainstream about comments he made in an eye-opening New York Observer interview published on October 10, 1994, that is not available online. Among other remarks, Bell denounced Henry Louis (Skip) Gates for writing a New York Times op-ed condemning black anti-Semitism:

I was furious. Even if everything he said was true, it was inexcusable not to mention what might have motivated blacks to feel this way, and to fail to talk about all the Jewish neoconservative racists who are undermining blacks in every way they can.

Bell went on to say, “Now, that wouldn’t excuse anti-Semitism, which is awful, but it would at least provide a context for this anger…”

It might seem nice of Bell to acknowledge the awfulness of anti-Semitism, but he didn’t mean it. The very same interview began as follows: “We should really appreciate the Louis Farrakhans and the Khalid Muhammads while we’ve got them.” Khalid Muhammad was Farrakhan’s right hand, who made a name for himself referring to Jews as, among many other things, “bloodsuckers” whose “father was the devil.” As for Farrakhan, if you need a refresher

Confirmed: Bill Ayers Hosted a Fundraiser for Obama

By Guy Benson
11/30/2011

Whenever conservatives noted -- accurately -- that candidate Barack Obama's past was laden with extremely questionable associations during the 2008 campaign, liberals would descend into self-righteous histrionics.  Stop the lies, they'd bellow, displaying exactly zero interest in whether the "lies" might, in fact, be true.  One of the so-called smears the Obama campaign valiantly fought off was the claim Obama had a close relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.  Team Obama said Ayers was merely "a guy who lived in Obama's neighborhood," and little more.  Confronted with a report that Ayers and Dohrn had launched Obama's career with a meet-and-greet fundraiser in the duo's home, campaign spokesman  -- and future White House Press Secretary -- Robert Gibbs issued a categorical denial (watch the first minute or so of this clip, via Breitbart TV):

Matthews: Did [Ayers] have a fundraiser for [Obama], or not?

Gibbs: No, he did not have a fundraiser for our candidate as he said ten seconds ago.

Gibbs called the Republicans' assertion of fact a "myth" that had been debunked by the local and national press.  This was a lie.  Click 'play' and watch the balance of the clip, which includes Ayers' nonchalant admission that the fundraiser did take place after all.  Fact: Barack Obama launched his political career in the home of two people who coordinated bombings of the US Capitol, Pentagon, and NYPD headquarters, among other places.  Their radical organization also plotted to bomb an army dance at Fort Dix, but (thankfully) failed spectacularly.  Did Gibbs knowlingly lie to Chris Matthews, or did Obama lie to his staff?  I'd imagine the reality is some combination of the two.  I wrote extensively on this subject during the last campaign, when I was living in Chicago.  In fact, I'll direct you to my August 24, 2008 Townhall column, which offered a point-by-point refutation of the campaign's perfidious Obama/Ayers "fact sheet."  A brief taste:

Let's examine Obama's claim that his connection to Ayers and Dohrn is "tenuous" and "phony." Is it phony that Obama's political coming-out party in the mid-1990s was hosted by Ayers and Dohrn? What about the panel discussions in which Ayers and Obama both took part—that were organized by Michelle Obama? Tenuous? I suppose the goodbye party for prominent Israel basher and Arafat apologist Rashid Khalidi, attended by Obama, Ayers and Dohrn, is also unworthy of discussion. That Khalidi himself hosted a fundraiser for Obama's first Congressional campaign must be completely irrelevant, too.

Then there's the pesky fact that Obama and Ayers served together on the board of the Woods Fund for three years—and continued to do so even after Ayers was quoted in the New York Times fondly recalling his days as a bomber, and despairing that he hadn't "done more." (This quote, the Obama fact sheet reminds us, comes from an interview that just happened to be published on 9/11—Ayers had made the incendiary remarks earlier. I don't know about you, but that makes me feel a lot better). The funds Obama and Ayers helped control at the Woods Foundation funneled thousands of dollars into both Khalidi's organization and the now-infamous Trinity United Church of Christ. Irrelevant, phony distractions? So what if the Obama campaign's top strategist concedes that the Senator's relationship with the terrorist is "friendly"? I apologize for even devoting this much attention to such tenuous and unimportant information.

Obama's "fact" sheet then brings us the crucial bulletin that all charges against Ayers were dropped, and that he spent no time in jail. Absolutely true. Except a minor detail was omitted: Ayers openly admits he is "guilty as sin" but "free as a bird." Charges were dropped because federal authorities overstepped their legal bounds in pursuing the Weathermen, not because the charges were unfounded.

In case there's any lingering doubt about the nature of Obama's close relationship with Ayers, watch this extraordinarily thorough CNN report.  Pay close attention to the bit starting around the 4:30 mark:

"Where was that introduction made?  At the home of the sixties radicals, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.  The Obama campaign again says it is just a coincidence."

As I wrote in my Tony Rezko post last week, the minutiae of Obama's shady past is unlikely to even register a blip on voters' 2012 radar.  Americans no longer have to judge Obama on who he might be, or what he may or may not have done in the past.  They instead will judge him on his terrible stewardship of the economy, his failed initiatives, and his petty partisanship.  Nevertheless, I think it's always relevant to set the record straight and to expose the Team Obama's indignant 2008 assertions for what they were: Self-serving lies.  The Barack Obama that was masterfully sold to the American people three years ago was a fraud.  That should be relevant to voters as they weigh whether or not he deserves four more years to inflict his agenda upon an already-struggling nation.

Ayers Owns Up to Obama Fundraiser

Jack Cashill
On October 15, 2008 MSNBC's Chris Matthews questioned Robert Gibbs, then senior advisor to Senator Barack Obama, about his relationship with terrorist emeritus Bill Ayers. These questions came immediately after the third presidential debate. Here is the sum of what Obama said during the debate when questioned by John McCain:

Forty years ago, when I was 8 years old, he engaged in despicable acts with a radical domestic group. I have roundly condemned those acts. Ten years ago he served and I served on a school reform board that was funded by one of Ronald Reagan's former ambassadors and close friends, Mr. Annenberg.

Other members on that board were the presidents of the University of Illinois, the president of Northwestern University, who happens to be a Republican, the president of The Chicago Tribune, a Republican- leaning newspaper. Mr. Ayers is not involved in my campaign. He has never been involved in this campaign. And he will not advise me in the White House. So that's Mr. Ayers.

As even Matthews admitted of Obama's summary, "He did not quite come clean." He then asked Gibbs point blank if Ayers had hosted a fundraiser for "your candidate" in his race for Illinois State Senate. (Thanks here to Breitbart TV)

"No he did not have a fundraiser for our candidate," said Gibbs, who then repeated, "He did not have a fundraiser for him." Gibbs elaborated that the claimed fundraiser was "another myth propagated by the McCain that has been debunked both by people in the Chicago media and in the national media." Matthews chose not to press.

Three years later to the day, Bill Ayers spoke to a group of educational activists about his support for a grade school teacher Bob Peterson in Peterson's bid to become president of the Milwaukee teacher's union.

"We did a little fundraiser for the campaign in our house," said Ayers, "and we reminded him that Barack Obama did a little fundraiser in our house too." The audience laughed.

In this same talk, Ayers verified a claim I had made in my book Deconstructing Obama, namely that Obama seemed like "an ambitious young man," one who "wants to be mayor of Chicago." This assertion matters in that it suggests why Ayers would have helped Obama write his book, Dreams From My Father, which was published just months before the 1995 fundraiser. As mayor, Obama could have pushed Ayers's radical educational agenda through the swamp of the Chicago educational bureaucracy.

Media hypocrisy is a given. As Newt Gingrich recently observed, "The news media has never found itself excited about the facts about Barack Obama." But one question that Milwaukee residents might be asking themselves is this: if Ayers's acts were so "despicable" that the president of the United States felt compelled to disown him, why did their teachers union honcho feel free to embrace him?

The L.A. Times Suppresses Obama’s Khalidi Bash Tape

By Andrew C. McCarthy

October 27, 2008 6:00 A.M.

Let’s try a thought experiment. Say John McCain attended a party at which known racists and terror mongers were in attendance. Say testimonials were given, including a glowing one by McCain for the benefit of the guest of honor … who happened to be a top apologist for terrorists. Say McCain not only gave a speech but stood by, in tacit approval and solidarity, while other racists and terror mongers gave speeches that reeked of hatred for an American ally and rationalizations of terror attacks.

Now let’s say the Los Angeles Times obtained a videotape of the party.

Question: Is there any chance — any chance – the Times would not release the tape and publish front-page story after story about the gory details, with the usual accompanying chorus of sanctimony from the oped commentariat? Is there any chance, if the Times was the least bit reluctant about publishing (remember, we’re pretending here), that the rest of the mainstream media (y’know, the guys who drove Trent Lott out of his leadership position over a birthday-party toast) would not be screaming for the release of the tape?

Do we really have to ask?

So now, let’s leave thought experiments and return to reality: Why is the Los Angeles Times sitting on a videotape of the 2003 farewell bash in Chicago at which Barack Obama lavished praise on the guest of honor, Rashid Khalidi — former mouthpiece for master terrorist Yasser Arafat?

At the time Khalidi, a PLO adviser turned University of Chicago professor, was headed east to Columbia. There he would take over the University’s Middle East-studies program (which he has since maintained as a bubbling cauldron of anti-Semitism) and assume the professorship endowed in honor of Edward Sayyid, another notorious terror apologist.

The party featured encomiums by many of Khalidi’s allies, colleagues, and friends, including Barack Obama, then an Illinois state senator, and Bill Ayers, the terrorist turned education professor. It was sponsored by the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), which had been founded by Khalidi and his wife, Mona, formerly a top English translator for Arafat’s press agency.

Is there just a teeny-weenie chance that this was an evening of Israel-bashing Obama would find very difficult to explain? Could it be that the Times, a pillar of the Obamedia, is covering for its guy?

Gateway Pundit reports that the Times has the videotape but is suppressing it.

Back in April, the Times published a gentle story about the fete. Reporter Peter Wallsten avoided, for example, any mention of the inconvenient fact that the revelers included Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, Ayers’s wife and fellow Weatherman terrorist. These self-professed revolutionary Leftists are friendly with both Obama and Khalidi — indeed, researcher Stanley Kurtz has noted that Ayers and Khalidi were “best friends.” (And — small world! — it turns out that the Obamas are extremely close to the Khalidis, who have reportedly babysat the Obama children.)

Nor did the Times report the party was thrown by AAAN. Wallsten does tell us that the AAAN received grants from the Leftist Woods Fund when Obama was on its board — but, besides understating the amount (it was $75,000, not $40,000), the Times mentions neither that Ayers was also on the Woods board at the time nor that AAAN is rabidly anti-Israel. (Though the organization regards Israel as illegitimate and has sought to justify Palestinian terrorism, Wallsten describes the AAAN as “a social service group.”)

Perhaps even more inconveniently, the Times also let slip that it had obtained a videotape of the party.

Wallsten’s story is worth excerpting at length (italics are mine):

It was a celebration of Palestinian culture — a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York.

A special tribute came from Khalidi’s friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi’s wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.

His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been “consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table,” but around “this entire world.”…

[T]he warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professor’s going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say.

Their belief is not drawn from Obama’s speeches or campaign literature, but from comments that some say Obama made in private and from his association with the Palestinian American community in his hometown of Chicago, including his presence at events where anger at Israeli and U.S. Middle East policy was freely expressed.

At Khalidi’s 2003 farewell party, for example, a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, “then you will never see a day of peace.”

One speaker likened “Zionist settlers on the West Bank” to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been “blinded by ideology.”

Obama adopted a different tone in his comments and called for finding common ground. But his presence at such events, as he worked to build a political base in Chicago, has led some Palestinian leaders to believe that he might deal differently with the Middle East than … his opponents for the White House….

At Khalidi’s going-away party in 2003, the scholar lavished praise on Obama, telling the mostly Palestinian American crowd that the state senator deserved their help in winning a U.S. Senate seat. “You will not have a better senator under any circumstances,” Khalidi said.

The event was videotaped, and a copy of the tape was obtained by The Times.

Though Khalidi has seen little of Sen. Obama in recent years, Michelle Obama attended a party several months ago celebrating the marriage of the Khalidis’ daughter.

In interviews with The Times, Khalidi declined to discuss specifics of private talks over the years with Obama. He did not begrudge his friend for being out of touch, or for focusing more these days on his support for Israel — a stance that Khalidi calls a requirement to win a national election in the U.S., just as wooing Chicago’s large Arab American community was important for winning local elections.

So why is the Times sitting on the videotape of the Khalidi festivities? Given Obama’s (preposterous) claims that he didn’t know Ayers that well and was unfamiliar with Ayers’s views, why didn’t the Times report that Ayers and Dohrn were at the bash? Was it not worth mentioning the remarkable coincidence that both Obama and Ayers — the “education reform” allies who barely know each other … except to the extent they together doled out tens of millions of dollars to Leftist agitators, attacked the criminal justice system, and raved about each others books — just happen to be intimate friends of the same anti-American Israel-basher? (Despite having watched the videotape, Wallsten told Gateway Pundit he “did not know” whether Ayers was there.)

Why won’t the Times tell us what was said in the various Khalidi testimonials? On that score, Ayers and Dohrn have always had characteristically noxious views on the Israeli/Palestinian dispute. And, true to form, they have always been quite open about them. There is no reason to believe those views have ever changed. Here, for example, is what they had to say in Prairie Fire, the Weather Underground’s 1974 Communist manifesto (emphasis in original):

Palestinian independence is opposed with reactionary schemes by Jordan, completely opposed with military terror by Israel, and manipulated by the U.S. The U.S.-sponsored notion of stability and status-quo in the Mideast is an attempt to preserve U.S. imperialist control of oil, using zionist power as the cat’s paw. The Mideast has become a world focus of struggles over oil resources and control of strategic sea and air routes. Yet the Palestinian struggle is at the heart of other conflicts in the Mideast. Only the Palestinians can determine the solution which reflects the aspirations of the Palestinian people. No “settlements” in the Mideast which exclude the Palestinians will resolve the conflict. Palestinian liberation will not be suppressed.

The U.S. people have been seriously deceived about the Palestinians and Israel. This calls for a campaign to educate and focus attention on the true situation: teach-ins, debates, and open clear support for Palestinian liberation; reading about the Palestinian movement—The Disinherited by Fawaz Turki, Enemy of the Sun; opposing U.S. aid to Israel. Our silence or acceptance of pro-zionist policy is a form of complicity with U.S.-backed aggression and terror, and a betrayal of internationalism.

SELF-DETERMINATION FOR THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE!

U.S. OUT OF THE MIDEAST!

END AID TO ISRAEL!

Barack Obama wouldn’t possibly let something like that pass without a spirited defense of the Israel he tells us he so staunchly supports … would he? I guess to answer that question, we’d have to know what was on the tape.

But who has time for such trifles? After all, isn’t Diana Vreeland about to critique Sarah Palin’s sartorial splendor?

UPDATE:

Percy Sutton, NYC  political icon in the African American community, tells a news reporter that Dr. Khalid al Mansour solicited favor and recommendation on behalf of Barack Hussein Obama in order to secure Barack's entry into Harvard. Think about that.

Sutton was approahed by a Dr. Khalid al Mansour on Obama's behalf, to secure (procure?) Barack's admission into Harvard from the rather second college, Occcidental.

Khalid al Mansour is a vile antisemite, devout (radicalized) Muslim and  high level adviser to Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal.

During the 1950's and 1960's, Percy Sutton became one of American's best known lawyers. He represented many controversial figures such as Malcolm X and argued many cases (photo: Malcolm X and Percy Sutton at a Harlem rally on Seventh Avenue between 125th and 126th streets, 1963)

Richard Fernanadez over at Fallback Belmont has a very curious piece on the ever changing Obama narrative concerning this jawdropper revealed by Amanda  Carpenter in her  post over at Townhall, Are Khalid al Mansour and Obama Friends?. This bombshell story asks more questions than it answers. And  Wretchard's twist on just which Mansour we are talking about is a whole other question.

Obama's mentors, friends, comrades tells us his story. These associations  show us who he is. Terrible, all of it.
I often wondered where Obama got the money for his long strange trip. But this, Dr. Khalid al Mansour development is .... outta hand.

Watch these videos. Stunning indictment of Mansour. He's a  total racist Islamist very much in the mold of Obama's best buds Louis Farrakhan and Reverend Wright.

Check Mansour's diatribe video against the Jews here.

Video Dr. Mansour's "The Birth and Death of Christianity: posted by Muslims by choice here.

And this video, uploaded by IslamStudios and titled "Christians Designed Discrimination:"

Sutton is an unabashed Obama supporter. The last thing he would want to do is hurt Obama. And if you watch the video, it is obvious Sutton is telling the story of Mansour and Obama with great pride. And the reporter is sharing, kvelling along with Sutton. Both see nothing wrong with what he is saying.

Can any of my readers help me out here?

The Wrong Man, Sir

Townhall links to a video in which civil rights activist Percy Sutton claimed he was asked by a certain “Dr. Khalid al Mansour”, adviser to ‘one of the richest men in the world’ to write a letter of reccomendation on behalf of Barack Obama to help him gain acceptance to Harvard many years ago.  Mansour was raising money for Obama at the time, according to Sutton, which is strange in itself. Townhall identifies the Mansour in question as a preacher from Islam Studios. A video purporting to show Dr. Mansour exemplifies his somewhat comical style of preaching is featured. However, Townhall may have erred in its identification of the right Mansour. The Islamic preacher featured in the video is unlikely to have been any kind of adviser to billionaries. But this other Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tario Al-Mansour’s biographical details fit the Sutton profile much better. However the lack of online information on such an august man leave me a little worried. Can Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tario Al-Mansour be the man? Sutton’s memory seems a little vague and confused, as would be natural for a man of his age. So the identification of Mansour and his connection to Obama might be a little hazy.

Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tario Al-Mansour is an internationally acknowledged advisor to Heads of State and business leaders in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and North America. He has been actively involved in structuring investments and joint ventures worldwide for over 35 years. Dr. Al-Mansour was also responsible for the Africa investment activities of Kingdom Holdings, Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal’s investment company. During his distinguished career, Dr. Al-Mansour has been a guest lecturer at Harvard University, Bombay University, Columbia University, UCLA, University of Kenya, London School of Economics and the University of Ghana.

In addition to Africa Venture Partners, Dr. Al-Mansour sits on the Boards of: Saudi African Bank; Kingdom Holdings, Africa; Multimedia Super Corridor (Malaysia); Space Tech Inc.; AmNet Corp. International; New Avenues Fund Ltd; United Bank for Africa; United Networks; and Landmark Entertainment.

Dr. Al-Mansour has authored 24 books and is listed in Who’s Who in the World; International Who’s Who in the Arab World; Two Thousand Men of Achievement; Royal Blue Book of London; World’s Who’s Who of Intellectuals and American Hall of Fame. Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University (Phi Beta Kappa) and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of California at Berkeley.

[...] I wonder if the readers can shed any additional light on this matter. Knowing someone at the right hand of very rich men is a great thing when you’re looking for entry into law school. Sutton took Mansour’s advice, whoever he was, and wrote Harvard saying there was a “genius” who would soon be available to them. And the rest is nearly history.

UPDATE: JAD just sent me this and opined, "Al Mansour represents OPEC?  No wonder Obama doesn't want the US drilling anywhere." Check it out! He's the preacher.  Keep it coming folks:

Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq Al-Mansour

Dr. Al-Mansour is an International Attorney and Businessman. His college education was obtained at Howard University, where he majored in Philosophy and Logic, and at the University of California School of Law at Berkeley where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.

He is a Phi Beta Kappa recipient and is listed in the World's Who's Who in Finance and Industry, International Who's Who in the Arab World, Who's Who in Public Affairs, Royal Blue Book of London, International Who's Who of Intellectuals, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in California, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Black America.
Dr. Al-Mansour has spent most of his adult life as a businessman/lawyer, intellectual, religious activist, author and teacher. His business and professional interests include co-founding the International Law Firm of Al-Waleed, Al-Talal & Al-Mansour, representing the O.P.E.C. interest of the famous Los Angeles trial, I.M.A.W.C. vs. O.P.E.C.; and serving as a co-founder and director of the Saudi African Bank (SAB), the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and the World United Bank for Africa (WUBA).

UPDATE: Richard Fernandez just tracked down the video promo on this dvd, Will the West Rule Forever? and his books. Please, check out the titles:

UPDATE: It seems to be a common thread in Obama's liasons. Heroyalwhyness sent me this link to 2001 NYT quote:

Today, Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn, 59, who is director of the Legal Clinic's Children and Family Justice Center of Northwestern University, seem like typical baby boomers, caring for aging parents, suffering the empty-nest syndrome.

Their son, Malik, 21, is at the University of California, San Diego; Zayd, 24, teaches at Boston University.

UPDATE: Herroyalwhyness is on it:

Marcia Froelke Coburn of ChicagoMag.com reveals the reason for the Ayer's childrens names:

"For two radicals once living underground, Ayers and Dohrn have raised three accomplished children: Zayd (named for a fallen Black Liberation soldier and colleague), 24, graduated from Brown University and has an M.F.A. degree in writing from Boston University, where he now teaches;
Malik (for Malcolm X), 21, is attending the University of California at San Diego; and Chesa, 20, their adopted son, just finished his sophomore year at Yale University."

UPDATE: From Slimguy:

African Leadership Academy ...

Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour, Senior Advisor, HRH Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal

Dr. Al-Mansour is the Co-founder of the international law firm of Al-Waleed, Al-Talal and Al-Mansour. He served as Special Advisor to: HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulazziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia

Obama’s Vetting Continued – Bell Was Just the Tip of the Iceberg
Posted by littletboca (Diary)

Saturday, March 10th at 12:37AM EST

(Diary)

FOX’s Sean Hannity showed Andrew Brietbart’s video the other day as Obama introduced Derrick Bell an extremely radical theory professor. The Liberal News Media is making light of this video pretending or implying it’s without merit, so let’s go one step further and do a little vetting on our own.

Derrick Bell wasn’t exactly the kind of man you’d make welcome at your dinner table. Derrick hated Caucasians, all Caucasians rich, poor, or middleclass. Derrick was an expert in class warfare!

Professor Charles Ogletree an Obama mentor would not have hidden the video until Obama won the Presidency if it were not damning evidence.

Derrick Bell literally idolized Farrakhan and commented that Farrakhan absolutely told the truth regarding racism and considered Farrakhan the best living example of a black man ready.

Bell, a civil rights attorney’s lifetime motto was: “I live to harass white people.” Jesse Jackson called Bell “one of our movement’s giants, one of our true heroes.” Beginning the early years of his law career, Bell was actually recruited out of law school by Thurgood Marshall himself.

Who is Thurgood Marshall? Of course your first thought would be Supreme Court Justice and that would be correct, but old Thurgood tried to play both sides of the political game.

Thurwood and his good friend Congressman/Judge White House official Abner Mikva belonged to Communist Party USA, Democratic Socialist organizing committee/Democratic Socialist of America and the Washington DC think tank, Institute for Policy Studies.

It’s a small world – Elena Kagan worked for both Mikva and good old Thurgood. Look where she’s at today folks!. Mikva tried to hire Obama while he was at Harvard, but Obama said he was going to move to Chicago and run for public office. Mikva was very close to Elena Kagan and Obama in the mid 1990’s becoming one of Obama’s mentors.

Another tidbit in case anyone doubts that Axelrod is a Communist, Mikva worked closely with two radical journalists Don Rose and David S. Canter (Communist Party member) both of them mentored and coached David Axelrod way back when he was a struggling journalist. Both of these men are noted for being the “top dogs” as Chicago power brokers.

Some say David Axelrod was hired in the early 1990’s by Saltzman or Klutznick to mentor and direct Barack Obama in preparation for (you guessed it,) “Commander in Chief.” Soros was hanging out in the shadows during this time keeping a thumb on happenings. As we all know, Obama pretended to kick Reverend Wright under the bus, but he forgot to separate himself from Rev. Willie Barrow.

Rev Willie Barrow is an Obama Faith endorsee and personal friend of Obama with close ties to Farrakhan and radical left wing groups. Another Reverend who adores Obama and Farrakhan, here’s some information on Willie back in 2008

http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2008/04/exclusive-willie-barrow-third-farrakh

This is just a few of Obama’s Communist and radical friends and one must wonder if Andrew Brietbart had finally connected all of the dots and was ready to start vetting Barack Obama in 2012. Obama’s Cabinet including his Czars are all political activists with an overpowering smell of Communism, Marxism and Rothschild Zionist.

Millions have been spent to hide his past – which would lead us to believe he probably isn’t a citizen of our United States. We have a traitor in the White House who is probably an illegal too, a person that has not been vetted!

“Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have.” Ronald Reagan

May God Bless America,
As Always,
Little Tboca

Oddly...nobody on the left can say none of this took place. Ayers admitted it...yet despite all these things....guys like ozmo don't see an issue. Gimme a break, nothing Obama has done backs up his radical past? Nothing.....what part of forcing healthcare on the individual doesn't seem shady...or his comments on guns. Or "sharing the wealth".  This shit is all a hell of alot more solid then a social security number or his birth certificate. Obama wakes up in the morining pissing on the Constitution.
