Really?
Its so bad that we make people accountable for being legal citizens? This is going to somehow come out as racist, that Romney is racist because he wants employers to make sure their employees are legal to work. Seems like common fucking sense, employing illegals is a mess waiting to happen.
Im telling you, someone is going to turn this into a racial issue somehow.

IMHO they should check every fucking one, and if they turn out to be illegal, the shouldnt be allowed a job. Its bullshit that pepole try and make all these laws excusing illegal immigrants and basically giving them the same rights and opportunities that legal citizens get. Its really unfair to the people that came here legally. A few mexicans that legally immigrated (that I know) get really pissed about this kind of thing. It makes them mad that they do everything the right way and the illegals wind up getting equal or better treatment and opportunities for breaking the fucking law.

Illegals are here illegally. They have no fucking rights (beyond being treated humanely). There shouldnt be any fucking debate. Theyre here illegally, they have no fucking rights, kick them the fuck out. Its unfair to those that do it legally. Its wrong. And I cant fucking understand how its even a debate.

I swear insanity has taken hold of this country.

Obama pledges immigration reform early in 2nd term

CARTAGENA, Colombia (AP) - In his most specific pledge yet to U.S. Hispanics, President Barack Obama said Saturday he would seek to tackle immigration policy in the first year of a second term. But he cautioned that he would need an amenable Congress to succeed.

"This is something I care deeply about," he told Univision. "It's personal to me."

Obama said in the television interview that he would work on immigration this year, but said he can't get support from Republicans in Congress. Obama also tried to paint his Republican presidential challenger, Mitt Romney, as an extremist on immigration, saying that Romney supports laws that would potentially allow for people to be stopped and asked for citizenship papers based on an assumption that they are illegal.

"So what we need is a change either of Congress or we need Republicans to change their mind, and I think this has to be an important debate during - throughout the country," Obama said.

Romney aides have said that the former Massachusetts governor supports laws that would require employers to verify the legal status of workers they employ.

"President Obama only talks about immigration reform when he's seeking votes," said Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul. "Then-candidate Obama promised to tackle immigration reform in his first year. More than three years into his term, America is still waiting for his immigration plan."

Hispanics are an increasingly important voting bloc in presidential elections. Obama won a sizable majority of the Hispanic vote in the 2008 election and his campaign is hoping for similar results this November.

Obama spoke to Univision, a network widely watched by Latinos in the United States, while in Colombia for the Summit of the Americas.

Summit of the Americas: Obama Rips Romney for Supporting Arizona’s Immigration Law

CARTAGENA, Colombia — President Obama, on a three-day trip to South America, attacked GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney’s stance on immigration reform today, saying his support for Arizona’s tough immigration law is “very troublesome.”

“We now have a Republican nominee who said that the Arizona laws are a model for the country. . . and these are laws that potentially would allow someone to be stopped and picked up and asked where their citizenship papers are based on an assumption,” Obama told Univision during an interview in Cartagena, where the president is attending the Summit of the Americas.

The three-day trip gives the president an opportunity to showcase his interest in the region and court Latino voters back home, whose support will be crucial in the upcoming election. Obama won a majority of the Latino vote in 2008 and his campaign is hoping for similar results come November.

If reelected, Obama vowed to tackle immigration reform.

“I can promise that I will try to do it in the first year of my second term. I want to try this year,” Obama told Univision.

Don't you assholes see how utterly disastrous a second term of this freak show will be?

GEE....this is what COLUMBIA REQUIRES:

Tourist Visas

United States citizens traveling to Colombia as tourists are not required to obtain a visa if they plan to stay for 60 days or less. To enter and leave Colombia within the 60-day period, all you need to present is a valid passport. Occasionally, immigration officials will ask you to present evidence of return or onward travel at certain border patrol stations and airports. All travelers, whether entering by land, sea or air, must enter the country through official border crossings. You may request extensions to the 60-day limit through the Colombian immigration authority at the Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad. Colombia does not charge any entrance fee or tax, but those leaving the country by plane do have to pay an exit tax that’s usually between $50 and $70, depending on the current monetary exchange rates.

Long-term Visas

Colombia offers a total of 17 different types of visas that allow for long term and permanent stays for everyone from international businessmen and journalists to students and volunteers. Some visas also give you the option to become a Colombian citizen in the future. Requirements for each visa vary quite a bit, but in all cases you’ll need at the very least a valid passport, three passport photos, a completed application form and police record that has been translated into Spanish. Other requirements may include signed letters of sponsorship, a copy of your marriage license and a copy of your birth certificate. These visas usually last between one and five years, depending on the type of visa.

Citizenship

Becoming a citizen of Colombia is difficult, time consuming and expensive in some cases. Most foreigners moving to Colombia permanently opt for long-term resident visas instead of citizenship because these visas are relatively easy to obtain and allow you to stay in the country for as long as you like with very few restrictions. Requirements for Colombian citizenship include a whole set of official documents—all of which must be translated into Spanish—detailed information on your financial history and current situation, fluency in Spanish and a knowledge of Colombian history and its constitution.

President Obama Tells Univision Romney Supports Racial Profiling
Mediaite ^ | April 16, 2012 | James Crugnale

President Obama sat down with Univison‘s Enrique Acevedo on Friday and was questioned if reelected whether he would make immigration reform a priority. “I can promise that I will try to do it in the first year of my second term,” Obama affirmed. “I want to try this year. The challenge we’ve got on immigration reform is very simple. I’ve got a majority of Democrats who are prepared to vote for it, and I’ve got no Republicans who are prepared to vote for it. It’s worse than that. We now have a Republican nominee who said that the Arizona laws are a model for the country; that — and these are laws that potentially would allow someone to be stopped and picked up and asked where their citizenship papers are based on an assumption.”

“Racial profiling,” interjected Acevedo.

“Very troublesome — and this is something that the Republican nominee has said should be a model for the country,” Obama responded.

What the fuck!?
Why is catching people who are here illegally wrong? Why is it so wrong to make sure citizens are citizens? If they arent, and theyre not here legally on a visa or visiting, they shouldnt fucking be here!
I dont understand this attitude or where it comes from. How the fuck is it ok to them for act like its so fucking wrong to catch and deport illegals?!

THEYRE ILLEGAL! THEY HAVE NO RIGHTS!!!
Theyre breaking the fucking law, and anyone else that breaks the law is punished. Why not them?! GAAAAHHH THIS MAKES ME SO MAD!!!! They act like its sooo fucking unfair to catch people that are actively breaking our laws.

This is one of the few things that really makes me outraged.

businesses are not forced to as of now to my knowledge at least not my business. We get alot of labor via the H2B visa program and the Texas workforce commission has said its up to the business to do so. Its better for you b/c if they check your employees or you get audited and they find some illegals you will get fined but I dont believe they are forced to as of now.

BREAKING: Federal Appeals Court Upholds Most of Arizona Voter ID Law
Stand With Arizona ^ | 04-17-2012 | John Hill

by John Hill
Stand With Arizona

In a ruling which demonstrated just how radical is the Obama Administration's opposition to Voter ID laws, the very liberal U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld Arizona's voter-approved 2004 law requiring voters to show proof of citizenship before receiving a ballot - a big victory in the battle against voter fraud in the runup to the November elections.

The Appeals Court mostly shot down the challenges to the law, which had itself been upheld in Arizona U.S. District Court. Arizona can demand to see certain forms of identification that proves citizenship, the court ruled.
And if someone doesn't have those forms of ID, paying the fees to obtain the ID isn't the same as a "poll tax."

However, the court also ruled that Arizona must not refuse federal voter registration forms, which work on the honor system by asking applicants to check a box indicating whether they're U.S. citizens. Arizona can't replace that form with its form that requires proof of citizenship, the court ruled. This is a remnant of the ultra-flawed National Voter Registration Act of 1993 ("Motor Voter Act"), which SWA has urged Congress to modify in future legislation.

But overall, the ruling is a major victory for Arizona voters, who overwhelmingly approved the law, and for Americans who support Voter ID laws with 73% support, according to a poll published just yesterday. And it may also be a preview of defeats yet to come for the Obama Administration's block of state Voter Id laws. including in Texas and South Carolina. Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder have tried to pretend that the Supreme Court never ruled in Crawford v. Marion County Election Board (2008) , which upheld photo ID requirements for voting. But they are destined to lose big when the Texas and S.C. challenges get to the Federal courts.

Left-wing groups, including Chicanos Por la Causa, League of Women Voters, ACLU and Arizona's patron saint of illegal aliens, Sen. Steve Gallardo had all filed suit, among others. The plaintiffs in the case "did not prove that the ability of Hispanics to participate in the political process was lessened somehow because of the law", the Ninth found.

Judge Johnnie Rawlinson dissented, finding that Arizona could reject federal voter registration forms in place of its own form. Judge Harry Pregerson also dissented, but for a different reason. He believes the polling-place ID provision discriminates against Hispanics. The plaintiffs may appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
