They would most likely also argue that a lot of the European countries that have varying degrees of socialist economies aren't technically "socialist". Thus your argument, as Emmortal has pointed out, is kind of pointless.

No one is accusing him of being a hard core socialist idealogue, just that many of his beliefs are socialist in nature. (Not the pure definition of socialism, the one that corrupt governments use to run their economies).

His redistribution of wealth is the biggest one, and his war on individual success is the other. Does this make him a pure socialist? No, because the actual definition of socialism is quite different. But thats not the definition that governments put into action.

Wrong. It comes from him taking PARTS of the socialist playbook and twisting them for use by the government, rather than the people. The idea's came from Socialism. Thats where the label came from. Theyre saying he's not a socialist because he ISNT a pure socialist. He took the theory of ownership and moved it to the governmental level. The idea's are still socialist theyre just not on the individual level.
