No...I just have a hard time believing RG can squat 695. He's one hell of an athlete and I'm not trying to hate on him at all.

He can't squat 695. He can yoke bar squat 695. Big difference. I'm guessing with his build, he could probably squat 315 for 6 to 8 reps. And if that video was real weight, this trainers are total ass fuks for putting that kind of weight on RG3's spine. Totally unnecessary.

Most HS football train the 3 main exercises per week: Bench, Squat, and Powerclean. It's a lot easier to get stronger that way. Our whole line was squatting near 500 plus lbs and benching near 4 plates.

Yeah if you got a good facility, you can do a ton of shit to get that explosion movement!  One of my personal favorites was the Hammer Strength Ground Base Jammer!

I'm still calling BS.  I went back and watched the video.  They show 695, and he says 695, and then they show a different frame.  I don't think he's got 695 on the bar when he's lifting.

You must realize that this is in fact a strength and conditioning program.

Further, this guy is not sniffing anything close to parallel.

A Hatfield/Yoke/Safety Squat bar, when utilized with handles, allows you to use your arms when squatting.

Quite literally, my friend (who competed at USAPL Nationals) would tell me that his lats would get sore from squats.  I told him he was obviously using the handles for far more than balance.

We use the yolk for our throwing athletes to ease the external rotation of placing your hands on a straight bar. Knowing how well educated the trainers at Athletes Performance I'm sure they're using the yolk for the same purpose.

I hate the comparisons to Cam Newton. Cam played amazing against real superior teams.  RG, not so much.  Most of his highlights are running plays. Try to do that in the NFL he is going to be in for a surprise.

RG3 is going to equal the next big bust.

And yes.. there are high school kids that can do 500LBS..

I squatted 405 in the 10th grade for a single.. Fucked my back off for the entire weekend tho... But i was about 165, all legs.
