You have to understand how bodybuilding is judged in order to understand how he could win the symmetry round despite not being the most ' symmetrical '

All rounds are physiques rounds , in the ' symmetry ' round they judge all of the criteria at once and DO NOT judge symmetry as a separate and distinct entity , the same as in the ' muscularity ' round and the ' posing ' rounds

They don't judge only posing in the ' posing ' round , they judge muscular bulk , balance & proportion , density & dryness and posing and presentation ALL at once

these rounds ' symmetry ' ' muscularity ' and ' posing ' are all just names

When a bodybuilder is being judged in the ' symmetry ' round the judges are looking at his-or-her symmetry but also who is carrying the most muscular bulk , who is harder or drier , who is the most complete , who is presenting his physique the best ALL AT ONCE and then at the end of the rounds the high and low scores are tossed out

Big dude. All around big dude.

Dorian managed to hold in his stomach and obliques when he was being judged (for the most part), so it didn't really hurt him.

Unlike Ronnie, who proudly held his hands high overhead with huge distended gut on display WHILE he was posing.

Skeleton structure and Balance contributes for the MOST PART to the overall Symmetry of ones physique not whos arms, chest or Quads are "Biggest" Yates in his Prime had None of the "Biggest" Anything and yet he consistently beat all the other "Bigger" arms and Quads guys again and again

There was no such thing as symmetry or muscularity rounds.  It was round 1 and round 2.  Round 1 was quarter turns and round 2 was mandatory poses.  Judges were judging the entire physique in all rounds.

in other words there is no "symmetry" rounds, all are "physique" rounds.

in other words judging criteria is as subjective as it gets

in other words judge give the sandow to whoever they sympahtise more for.

No it's not  ' subjective as it gets ' , in every single pose the apply ALL of the criteria at once , standing relaxed , who is carrying the most muscle AND who has the best symmetry AND who has the better balance AND who has the better proportion AND who has the better density AND who is drier AND who is better at posing AND presentation

You have a line-up of guys all standing relaxed you can clearly see who is carrying more muscle when directly compared to the others , who is in better condition , who has better shape , who has better proportions , who better at holding the pose , who looks confident to be there and who looks just happy to get a call out , who has control over their physique and who is shaking and fighting while posing , who has high calves and who doesn't , who has a long torso and short legs and who has more of a balanced torso and legs , whose tan is perfect and whose isn't , etc , etc , etc

Now that applies to every single pose from every angle

It's not if you actually know what the process is , but people like you are just content to like what you like and if what you like doesn't win then the fix is in  ::) most pros don't know how contests are judged. I remember reading an interview with Chris Cormier when Jay beat him at the Arnold and he was conceding that he could understand how Jay could beat him in the muscularity round , but could not grasp how and why he beat him in the ' symmetry or posing ' rounds

99% of people on this board have no clue on how contests are judged and only base their opinion on who should have won on personal preference , or what they think bodybuilding should be or represent. That's all good but not how it works

the first round has been given lots of names,ie symetry rd.standing relaxed rd. quarter turns, while it is the round symetry is looked at the most in,it does include size, how in shape you are, muscularity etc.also symetry while partially having to do with the body being in balance, also is about the silhouette you display, the v-shape and with yates dominating lats and broad shoulders, this gave him an advantage in this round.

LOL, so they have all those "rounds" with "different" "names" yet all "arounds" are basically the "same" where everything is always judged "together"?

You can either accept how contests are judged or you can stick to your clueless assumptions and conspiracy theories and believe what you want to believe either way it doesn't change the facts but you're not interested in facts just trolling , troll-on

They shouldn't be judged like that, simple as.

You can harp on about this crap as much as you like, but Dorian, Ronnie, Jay et cetera do not represent what bodybuilding should be about. This fact is underlined by huge majority opinion.
