"We need to talk about Kevin"

Anybody see this flick? It's the old Nature vs Nuture argument...
You know the typical "bad seed" child, kinda like Case 39, except not as extreme.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did read the book a few years back.  Another gay couple that lives a few floors up watched it on pay per view a few weeks back and told my husband about it.

I remember that when reading the book, the mother would speak of how even in the womb, she knew something was going to be wrong with her child.  It was quite the descriptive tale filled with horror and evil.

I'm not too sure how much nurture played a role in the overall development of the child, seeing as both parents were adamant in providing him with the best things in life, both emotionally and materialistically.

Park, park...are you coming over to the "right" side of things?   :P

I happened to see the trailer on Amazon and thought it was in the Case 39 mould (innocent little grl is really a killer Troll-Monster who feeds off of "parents" fear)...which kinda is a play on today's parents giving in to their kid's every whim....what does this create, a Monster who thinks that it deserves everything.

I found the trailer interesting...but was more engrossed in Tropa De Elite (Elite Squad),

so naw, I'm still dead center.

I figured someone was going to bring him up, or Kevin Levrone---imagine Levrone's trailer, there is a shot of toy soldiers on a wooden floor, and spilled bottle of Jack Daniel's...Kevin passed out on the floor...Banging on the doors, you hear Chris Cormier say, "Kev! Hey Kev, open up, what the fvck are you ok in there?!"
voice over by Weider: "We need to talk about Kevin's uh, 'situation', he is spiraling out of control. He needs help..."

fade out: "100 pound...100 pound one arm...100 pound one arm dumbbell curls in...in your face"

and yeah, i saw the movie. it was pretty disturbing and didn't leave me enlightened just a little mild disappointment at the end. is all.

it was very beautifully shot and edited though, in it's art direction.

heard it from several friends and one in particular who recommended it.

and if you keep a tab of what the most downloaded movies are you'll notice this is one. it's not obscure or anything ???

good acting and performances but never went for the visual shock once, kept expecting it to step up a gear but falls kind of flat.
