Albert Beckles started later in the game weighed ALOT less (under 220lbs for the most part) looking more or less the SAME ala shawn ray year after year the only real noticeable Difference being his Conditioning though the years levels witch peaked in 1985 and obviously lifted a whole lot less poundage in the Gym than coleman putting less strain on his system and a Different level and VOLUME of Hormones etc etc.
Injurys did Ruin Coleman just like Yates before him the Difference is Yates got out @ 36-37 odd years old, Coleman chose to carry on after 40 and progressively got worse and worst getting beaten bye guys that wouldn't of tied his shoe laces in 98-2001, after a Certain point...it doesnt matter who you are the Body WILL shut down Especially in regards to Hormone Receptors that refuse to respond or "spike" to a certain level as it was just years before
People forget Ronnie had discs removed from the cervical spine(neck) and more than likely suffers from cervical spinal stenosis, narrowing of the spinal canal which constricts the spinal cord. I truly believe the reason Ronnie's body looked so off balance in his latter years(atrophied left tri and quad, half a lat) was due to this spinal cord damage. Not receptors shutting down or no response to juice any more. Spinal stenosis often affects people in their later years, unless you were born with it or have some sort of trauma to the spine, i.e. 800 pound squat and deadlifts, 500 pound rows, 500 pound benches, etc. for years and years.
And honestly, the "Paloboism" we talk about on here is actually caused by this same disorder. Years and years of damage inflicted on the cord causing muscles to atrophy due to damage of the cord and the nerves. I'm no Doctor but I have severe cervical spinal stenosis, and have noticed atrophied muscles and loss of strength. And this is with no other life style changes.
