I'm serious.  She could have tanked the race, and still won Gold, but she went ALL OUT!  Classy woman the British have right there.  I'd marry her.
Yeah I had never seen her before. She laid back with a quarter lap to go then turned on the afterburners. Georgeous, face and body

Womens 75 kg +

China's Zhou takes gold and records on total(#333 kgs) and C/J(#187 kgs) .

Russia's Kashirina gets silver and record in the Snatch (#151 kgs). C/J #181,  Total #332.

Armenia's  Khurshudyan wins bronze. (S # 128, C/J # 166, T # 194).

--------------------

America winds up 7th and 10th, with the very business like Robles being the better lifter. Mangold's wrist looked to be troubled and she lacked confidence on many lifts, granted it is her first big go round. Robles looked very strong, but had trouble with her jerk.

So that end's America's run at Olympic Weight Lifting - 10th in the men's 85 kg, and 7th and 10th in the women's 75 plus kg.

They consider it from time to time.

The biggest thing against it is the time and effort to do it at an Olympic level.

Olympic Weight Lifting is considered a long and boring sport by the IOC, especially now that everything is so televised. Weightlifting only gets a set number of lifters and scheduling times, so they try to limit the weight classes to keep everything moving fast and still somewhat competitive, even if that means some lifters get treated unfairly.

Also with the the weight class changes, you get weird things happening, like gaint super competitive classes on one end and boring lightly competitive classes one the other. This tends to happen more on the women's side. I doubt with the Olympic coverage at stake they want to play with it too much.

Lastly, They have reshuffled the weight class a few times in the last couple of decades, and with each change many of the old records are forgotten about, essentially thrown away. It's a double edged sword, because on the one hand it allows them to to say to the IOC, etc..... that the sport is exciting and watchable, it creates a lot of hurt feelings among many because they feel it cheapens the sport.

Weightlifting needs less weightclasses! What about 2 classes, lightweights and heavyweights, 110 kg the divider.
