Wedding Presents & Baked Potatoes
« on: August 01, 2012, 05:10:41 PM »
Two quick questions:

1) How much should you spend on a wedding present for an acquaintance if the present is in the form of a gift card?

2) I'm trying to lose weight.  Are mid sized baked potatoes without salt okay to eat once a day?  I'm not a big fan of sweet potatoes.

1.- Depends on the groom and maid, if they are fancy people, fancy shit, if they are simple people, give them something they find very useful.

2.- Its sweet potatoes you dummy, sweet potatoes and the right microwave.

Is it the $50 or the fact that it's from Walmart?

Sadly from Walmart. I love Walmart but it has a trailer trash reputation.

$50 dollars good enough in my opinion....they should appreciate anything that comes their way though. Give $40 cash and donate ten dollars in their name to a charity.

Baked potato fine for losing weight.

Obama wants you to give him the fifty..but then he ain't buying you dinner or putting you in a position to nail a bridesmaid, so fuck him.

$50 is fine...give them the cash.  My wife and I emptied whatever envelopes we got before leaving on our honeymoon.  Great to have a little extra spending cash.  First we fucked..then we got the cash.  That was 19 years ago.  Now it would be get the cash, bitch about work, argue over who's turn it is to feed the dogs, go to seperate rooms to chill and watch different TV shows and then if we can stand the sight of each other...screw.

1. save the money to buy a bottle of Cypionate

2. only potatoes that have been ground up and infused into an IV bag and injected directly into your liver to replenish precious liver glycogen after a 10x10 GVT squat workout are acceptable. You know this is truth.

It is if you are attending by yourself, if you go with someone then double it.

Yes you will be fine with a baked potatoe a day and the salt doesn't matter, if you want to use it by all means. Keep the sugar in check though, no sugar

Depends

Are you attending the wedding/reception?  Are you bringing a guest?  Is dinner part of the reception?  How do you know the couple? Is this a first or 2nd marriage? What are their ages?  What area of the country?  Minimum around here is $100.  Gift card = kind of tacky IMO.  Walmart = insult.

I avoid weddings unless its close family... When I get an invite, I send a card back saying I cant go, and I include a check for 75.00 - 100.00
(Depending on how much I like the people).

Yes, potatoes are good food for us normal folk... (Unless you're a fat sack of rags)... Eat them up...
If youre a dieting bodybuilder, do 2 things:

1. Don't eat potatoes
2. Kill yourself

50-100 bucks is adequate for a wedding gift

I would recommend eating a baked potato with pepper and some spray butter

This. If it's a couple a $100 in a card, cash not gift card.
