IMO, when it comes to bbers, it shouldn't factor, due to sheer lack thereof

Reeves was in a pre-information age and that's good, it preserves his moral integrity.

Also, we weren't at the farm, and horses can't talk.

Didn't need the internet back then to know Vince Gironda was a surly bastard , read what Reeves contemporaries have said about him. If you get the chance read Worlds to Conquer by Chris LeClaire it shows Reeves in a new light , he was always fiercely private and the author spent years with Reeves and really got to know him in a personal way that others couldn't.
