This shooting may have been initially misreported. It sounds like they are now reporting that the gunman only shot 1 person and the rest were injured by ricochet or fragmented objects due to police fire.

"Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the bystanders were not hit directly by police, but rather the officers' struck "flowerpots and other objects around, so ... their bullets fragmented and, in essence, that's what caused the wounds."

Earlier Friday, Bloomberg told reporters that some of the wounded may have been inadvertently hit in the crossfire or by ricocheting bullets."

wait - so there was ONE or TWO dead on the sidewalk?   Did the police KILL anyone beside the bad guy?

The grey suit guy is the bad guy. The guy with the huge head wound is the original victim of the grey suit. Both died on the sidewalks about a block away from each other.

All shot by the police besides the killer, were hit in non vital areas - Feet, legs, arms, etc...... A lot were hit from fragments or ricochets.

IMO it's better they are killing each other than innocent civilians on the other side of the earth.
