By billing it to Medicaid. That's where they are getting the majority of their money from 1. Person goes into Padgett Medical Center for an Eval : Bills Medicaid 500-3000 dollars in various bullshit tests... 2. Person gets a permanent prescription for Oxycodone for practically anything(Migraine, pimples, toejam, bad breath,etc) depression is the most common one. Then heads to to their BayScripts Pharamacy to get their fix....drug costs billed to Medicaid. Its easy to do because people in poverty always qualify for Medicaid and once they are taking Oxy's, they are naturally hooked of course so they keep coming back to the same pharmacy where they are not going to say anything no matter how fucked up they are....and keep billing Medicaid for it. Feds will eventually catch up with the shit and bust everyone but another one will simply take its place because its so lucrative. P.S. Thanks for the question...don't get to use my degree in Health Care Management that much  I never heard of someone getting prescribed Oxycontin for depression, where are you getting your information |

You have to understand that when a medical claim is submitted, its not in words but numerical medical code. It also doesn't list the type of treatment given as its on a separate form and that's in numerical code. So its very easy for companies to take advantage of the current system. Eventually, when Obamacare goes through, it'll cut this shit out |

Hahahhaahha this sort of pitch actually worked on me once, almost nine years ago. I was promised I would meet the bands if I helped organise a metal festival. I put in use my connections and even did physical work to set up the stage, etc. The promoters stiffed everyone so badly there were death threats and the police involved |

That medical manager degree. Its right next to the personal training degree. The house inspector degree. The private investigator degree. The correctional officer degree. Lastly, the know-it-all degree. In any event, Vince is right in that you get diagnosed by your doctor by what are called ICD-9 codes. The ICD-9 codes have to 'jive' with what procedures were done. These codes are called CPT codes. Now, someone with a diagnosis of 338.XX (xx part narrows it down) would be someone who is in chronic pain. SOOOOO that doctor would probably perform a 99203 level exam and then have tojustify in their notes why they are giving the patient a powerfully addictive opiate drug. It might be supported by what they say, it might not. Using the example here...with medicare/medicade...it will likely never come up. Medicare has only recently started auditing notes. They are soooooooo backed up that its most likely things won ever come up until the doctor is so rich that he/she has quit practicing and is never going to be touched. |
